Einstein Bros. Bagels — Restaurant in Gilbert

I was excited to see an Einstein’s pop up on this side of town. It’s a very different store than the others. It has no seating, and it doesn’t have the usual “order here” and “pay here” locations. As a result I was a little confused so I stood near the cash register as the associate rang up someone’s purchase. As soon as she was done, she turned her back and started walking away. I stood at the register for about 7 minutes. 2 people walked by but didn’t look at me. 2 additional people were standing with their backs to me preparing food, but had turned and talked to other associates, so they did see me standing there. I finally called out and asked them if I was supposed to order on the app or some other way. I thought maybe it was an app order only location, since I didn’t see the sign to “order here”. The girl was rude, walked over to the cash register and just looked at me. She didn’t ask me what I wanted to order. I asked again, “do you take orders here or do I need to order on the app?” She said in the most bored voice, “what do you want to order?” I don’t mind that they’re busy. I don’t mind waiting 10 minutes to place an order. I would just like to be acknowledged with a “be right with you” or some sort of greeting to know that they see me and will help me when they can. Super sad that after only a few months of opening the employees already look burned out...

So I saw this new Einstein's pop up on power road and I thought yes I don't have to drive all the way to the other location. Consider this store Einstein lite for Bengals. They don't have everything and that location. I wanted a cranberry bagel and they don't sell them there. It is a very small store compared to the other Einstein's that I've been to. This morning I simply wanted some plain bagels and some cream cheese but they were out of that as well. The woman who answered my questions at the front was very polite but looked a little tired. I think this morning might have been a bit of a bear. I know this location will do well because it's on the main artery of Gilbert so I'm not worried about it going away. I am however disappointed in selection, but as someone who does not own this location I don't have much to say about the inventory. I'm on my way to Val Vista to go get some bagels at the other Einstein. That's okay. My music playlist is jamming. Today I'm in a good mood. I got a good night's sleep and then today will be killing weeds cleaning at the house and planning my meals for next week.

I feel like I have given this location enough opportunities to change my mind but I feel like I have ordered here enough to give a fair review.

Every time I have ordered through the app to this location a part of my order has been forgotten, or in the case of this morning they were out of something. But instead telling me that, they let me leave with only part of my order. Remembering my past experiences I checked my bag to realize there was an item missing.

And then to get home and find that neither of the bagels were toasted as requested. Which has been the case in the past as well. I might as well have gone to the grocery store.

I wondered if it had to do with ordering online and that not being a priority for the staff, but this is a to go location....so online orders should be their...
