It’s like the employees can’t be bothered to do their job. Also, I am confused about what they define as “butterfly shrimp.” They used to split them in half before cooking, now what they call Butterfly Shrimp, is just regular shrimp. I have seen this location advertise things they don’t have. Look, if the promotion is over, take down the signs and flags. I’m not sure if the bait-and-switch tactics are intentional, or if they are just lazy. If you ask for something that isn’t conveniently within their reach, they will refuse to do their job and go look for it in the cooler. Me: “Can I get tater sauce?” Him: (looks in cabinet, it’s not there.) Other employee: “It might be in the walk-in (cooler).” Him: “Nah, I don’t think we have any.” Me: “How about in the walk-in?” Him: “Nah, I don’t think we have any.” He couldn’t even check. And it wasn’t busy. I hardly ever write reviews, and I like Popeyes food, but this Gilroy location should be avoided, which is hard for me to say because I do enjoy the food at other locations. Some of the items here were colder than I would have liked, but it was okay. You will see the other reviews complaining about the service. These issues should be addressed by management. This kind of behavior starts from the top. I used to work in a fast food restaurant, and it’s hard, I get it, but my manager cared about customer service, and he made sure we all did too l. He made sure we were doing our job and we had happy customers. If someone wasn’t doing their job, they were let go. There are too many nice people looking for jobs to hold onto bad employees. The culture at this Popeyes needs to change. I doubt...
Read moreCame in today before the dinner rush, order local favorite of shrimp and chicken meal, kids meal, extra mac n cheese, and 2 apple pies. Went to pay and cashier informs me that they “ran out” of the apple pies. This is like the 4th time this has happened. Last time they gave me those strawberry cheesecake pies instead and didnt even tell me. Parked to eat and looked n bag and no mac n cheese. Went back through the drive-thru and told them nicely i just ordered and mac was missing. Cashier apologized. When I got to the window to get my missing mac the cashier inside the store was staring at me and laughing. Completely done with this Popeyes. Was good 2/3 times now I wont go back to this location.
So I what I said I wouldn’t do and I returned to this location. I ordered 4 kids meals and now your only option for a side is applesauce. Sounds like Popeyes is just getting more and more greedy since I’m sure they have a contract wit either the applesauce company or Costco and get the applesauce for cheap yet charge almost $7.00 for a kids meal. If I wanted to eat healthy I wouldn’t be a fast food restaurant. My kids love there fries and I feel jipped since I spent almost $50 on the 4 kids meals and a nugget meal meal along with 4 chocolate chip cookies. Oh and an order of large fries since I dont get options anymore. Mist fast food restaurants offer different sides not just for health nuts. And to too off spending all my hard earned money on applesauce, all the kids meals tenders and drumsticks were ordered with mild chicken and I received all spicy chicken 😔 i set myself up fir that failure...
Read moreWe have been to this location about 7 times now and we have given up on them. We will still go to Popeye's locations outside of Gilroy, just not this one.
Among many other issues we have encountered, the big ones are that 4 times in a row now they have not had the specials that have been not only advertised on TV, but posted in the drive thru and inside the building as well. Their only response every time, is "our shipment never came, try again: tomorrow/in a few days/next week". It is a consistent issue with each of the different specials they have had going on at any given time.
The add insult to injury, the quality of the chicken seems to have gone downhill at this location. The chicken is rarely crisp anymore and is as soggy as KFC.
Sorry Popeye's, but this location is the worst one I have ever experienced. Get better employees and learn how to order your food.
I should mention that this particular location is seemingly cursed. Since I have lived here, it has been an Arby's, Carl's Jr, Roadhouse Jack's and now Popeye's Chicken. I am very surprised that Arby's and Carl's couldn't make...
