After reading the reviews I had to come here. My first exposure to Peruvian cuisine is through Mark Weins YouTube and IG channel "Migrationology" . In particular, Peruvian ceviche, which looks different from the standard Mexican ceviche that I love so much. I found this place which was walking distance from my office, and got here early. Matter of fact, on a weekday around 11:45AM, I was the first one in. I was pleasantly greeted by a server named Jared who was super friendly and outgoing. Another gentlemen brought me some olive garden style bread sticks, and 2 dipping sauces. One sauce was a mayonnaise mixture that was delicious. The other was a green sauce that had the tiniest bit of heat. I ordered the ceviche mixto, which was one of two available ceviches on their lunch menu which was cheaper than their dinner menu. $12.99 versus $15.99 I believe. My food came out in about 7 minutes, but I was still the only on in the store. My first mouthful of ceviche was pure Bliss. I had a piece of white fish, a Kerbal of roasted corn, a sliver of red onion, and a bit of the "leche de tigre" which is the sauce mixture of lime/lemon/seasoning dripping off the seafood. The dish actually comes with both steamed corn kernels, and roasted corn kernels, to add a bit of starch to the fresh seafood. Also on my plate was a dollar pancake sized cut of sweet potato, also steamed to perfection. It was a perfectly sweet starchy addition to an otherwise very clean, citrusy refreshing dish. I did get an additional 2 breadsticks to go with my plate of seafood, which was just an amazing combination. The 2 dipping sauces, the soft bread, the clean and crisp smelling and tasting seafood , the brightness of the red onions, the crunch and aroma of the corn kernels, all added up to one of my favorite lunches I've ever had on Brand Blvd. And since I work here, I literally eat at every establishment south of the 134 down to the Americana on Brand. I found a winner here. 5 stars.

Nice place - tasty veggie noodle based saltada. Generous portion, nice flavor. Husband had their beef stew - cultural difference? As he would have preferred not to have the meat still on the bone in his stew and couldn’t figure out why it had a side of rice when it was basically a piece of beef with a bone on a bed of mashed potatoes covered in more of a gravy than we traditionally think of stew. We tried some sides that were fairly disappointing and I would definitely forego these if I were you. Corn nuts were very sparse and just the large corn kernels that I had in my saltada not seasoned or cooked special. Fries seemed like what a home cook can get at the grocery store, but not cooked demonstrably better than popping them into your oven. Staff were lovely - attentive, kind and happy to help. They give you bread sticks at the start of the meal - those aren’t very inspiring, either. Hard on the ends. Our friends seemed to enjoy their meals. I’m afraid I didn’t get pics or descriptions from them.

Went to Peru last year and was craving some Peruvian food. Granted i was blown away by the food in Lima and took a cooking class while there too, so my expectations were high. Papa a la huancaina was really good and everyone at our table loved it. I had the lomo saltado and it was just ok. Service was sub par (no one greeted us or brought us menus for a really long time; after getting seated a waitress raised the blinds which blinded us because the sun was hitting our faces and they refused to raise the bounds back up, so we asked to change tables which they allowed reluctantly). Inside decor was nice, but the music was too loud for us to speak to each other without yelling. A bilingual singer sang and had a really nice voice in English and Spanish, but I just wanted to talk to the folks in my group.

We were in town for the LA Car show and on our last day of the trip, had lunch with family. We were originally going to go to Puro Sabor, but decided on this restaurant at the last minute. When we got there around noon on November 21st, they had just opened and appeared to have had a party the night before. There were many dirty glasses all over the bar and on the mini stage they had set up. All of the tables were dirty and before we sat down we had to ask the server to clean them. The server was inattentive, and provided very slow service. It seemed like he might have also been cooking some of the items and preparing other things as he would disappear for long periods of time. It would take 10 minutes to fulfill a simple request, if he even remembered them. We had to stay on top of him every second to make sure we just received simple condiment requests. After asking for mayo a few times, and him forgetting to give it to us, we asked him a third time, and he seemed flustered, stating they did not have any mayo at all, which was odd, because when we first asked for it, he said ok. Maybe he did not understand the request at first. After waiting for a bit, our food came out, but my dad, who simply ordered a salad with chicken breast, got his order well after everyone else. It was also sent out without the chicken... They did still charge us though, until we pointed this out. We never asked for the chicken breast because if we did, it would take them another hour or so for the order to be delivered and we had already waited for a while.

Overall, the food was actually pretty good, but the server seemed like he was struggling to provide any sort of service. I would probably not come back to this restaurant due to that and the cleanliness of the restaurant. At no point did he ever remove any of the many dirty glasses at the bar or leftover soda from the stage.

We spent over $200 here and had a horrible experience as they should have at least had the restaurant tidied up...

I've been coming to this place with family and friends for at least 10 years, and I have to say, while I love the food here, the service is consistently disappointing.

Since the last remodeling, the customer service has hit rock bottom. Whether it's a busy day or slow, the servers seem disinterested in their tables. Often, you're lucky if they take your order 15 minutes after you arrive. Appetizers and entrees arrive simultaneously, and they rarely check on you until you're almost done with your meal. You often have to make eye contact or even get up and approach them because they're too busy chatting among themselves.

Despite giving this place numerous chances due to our love for the food, the service remains consistently poor. I hope they make improvements, but for now, I'll be avoiding this restaurant.

Since I am leaving a review I have to say something about the ambiance, The ambiance at this restaurant can be lively on Saturday nights, especially when they have live music. While the music itself is usually pleasant to the ears, it does create quite a buzz. If you're looking to have a quiet conversation during dinner on a Saturday night, this might not be the ideal place due to the lively atmosphere.

On other days, however, they have a lovely tropical music playing softly in the background, creating a relaxed and enjoyable dining experience. So, if you prefer a quieter setting, consider visiting on weekdays or Sundays to enjoy their great food and soothing background tunes

I'm giving this place 2 stars solely because of the the food is absolutely delicious, otherwise the service really trumps anything else they have...
