The place definitely had a fun vibe. I was not personally a fan of the girl's uniforms. It's. They have even less material than hooters girls. I just would like to think that fun/attractive young women working in a place like that could have actual clothing so that their tips and gratuities would be based on their service, not their physical attributes. And I also think that uniforms like that put the women in a position where predators feel entitled. So I was not a fan of that right out the gate. I got the salmon bowl which was delicious. The salmon was very flaky and had a great grill. The Brussels sprouts and mixed vegetables were great, and the sauce that was on everything was delicious. My drink was called the very Berry. I was surprised when they said it in front of me because it was bubbling. Apparently they put dry ice in it for that effect. So that was a fun surprise. The gaming area was fun as well. The air hockey table definitely has a fast flow of air which makes for a challenging game. The video games we're fun, but not quite as fun because the duck work above was leaking, so you couldn't have a group of people stand around without taking a shower. A couple of the games ate our tokens. But all we had to do was go mentioned and they gave tokens back. They know which machines stick. I went alone because I don't know anyone in the area. I found fun people there. Actually exchanged numbers with a woman who was there with her husband. Fun people hang out...
Read moreVery disappointed in the customer service and communication of this place. It was Friday night around 7pm and I walked up to the host where a man (who looked like a manger) greeted me and said “hi how are you”. I could tell he was busy and didn’t really want to give me the time of day. I said “hi I’m doing good, how are you?” He responded with “so right now we have a 30 minute wait but there might be an open seat at the bar”. I was shocked. He didn’t even ask me if I wanted to put my name down or how many people were in my party. So then I asked him if he could put us down on the waitlist. He asked for my phone number and name and said they would call/text (can’t remember which one) when our table was ready. I was thinking okay cool 30 minutes is not to bad of a wait for a Friday night... 30 minutes go by - no call no text. 45 minutes go by - no call no text. 1 hour goes by - no call no text. Really. By the 45 minute mark we decided to go to the State 48 Brewery Funk House which has bowling, pool tables and shuffle board. They sat our party of 6 people right away and there was no wait to bowl or play pool. We stayed at State 48 until 12:30am and I still never received a call back from the Carousel Arcade Bar. Disappointing. Personally, seems like they didn’t have a handle on what was going on. Would like to give this place another chance but not if the customer service I received at the door continues...
Read moreWas actually really excited to visit for the first time which sadly did not happen. Me and my mother went to the Carousel arcade as our first stop from the restaurants available but were turned away before even entering the line since " we seem intoxicated" Since my mother who is over 50 years old has issues walking and balance ( but wanted to go out dancing) was stumbling on the way to the line and I was assisting her since we had come from dinner where I had one (1) drink over 2 hours ago and my mother had two coca cola's. If a suggestion could be made it would be to invest in breathalyzers not just to make sure no false allegations are being made but also to make sure no revenue is lost since turning away sober customers is not ideal for a bar. Even so once we were told we were too intoxicated we drove home .. could have been that I wanted someplace to rest and sober up BEFORE driving, If that was the case, but since was turned away that was not a option. I doubt this review will make much difference however since the Carousel Arcade was the only restaurant that had no line and did not seem very busy regardless. Very disappointing since this will be my first and last trip to West gate...
