The menu is fresh and simple. You can either order a bowl or a flat bread sandwich. Then you pick your meat. You could choose from chicken, gyros, a combo of the two, or falafel(I prefer the combo-best of both worlds). At times, the meat is dry and cold, so it's best to eat the food there.
They add the rice and veggies. And finally after all that wait, the icing on the cake, their mysterious white sauce that ties in everything. They over do it with the sauce, so I tell them to put the sauce on the side.
But I must warn you, they also have a red chili sauce that is like a punch in the mouth. It is hot, intense and it burns. Definitely not for the faint of heart. They even tell you and warn you about their hot sauce. Just use it sparingly and judiciously to add heat to your meal.
On the walls of this place are images of people waiting in line to try their food. The spectacle of that line is almost Howlin Rays like. The Halal Guys are worth the wait and legit.

Read moreI have been hearing about The Halal Guys for months so I was excited to try it out. We came here two days after the grand opening and I was expecting a line to order but that wasnt the case. I was able to walk to the counter and place my order.
Since we were unfamiliar with their menu, we decided to play it safe and order their combo platter with chicken and gyro with the sauce on the side. The chicken and gyro was a little bit on the dry side and the taste was kind of bland. It definitely needed some kind of sauce. After putting on the white sauce, it made a world of difference in the taste. I ended up constantly putting sauce on my meats like I do with salads.
Overall, I liked the food even though it might not be best. It was something different to eat. I will definitely come back to try their...
