VENICE CLASSIC PASTRY — Restaurant in Glendale

Went in today as a brand new customer because someone I know brought some food from them and it was very good. Called beforehand and the lady on the phone said it wouldn’t be ready for another 15-20 mins asked how many I wanted and while I was thinking to decide she says I have another customer decide and call me back very rudely. I didn’t even want to go in after that but ended up changing my mind. So I go in and tell her what I want and she says you were the one that called right and I said yes and she says I told you it was going to be 15-20 mins and I said yes it’s been that much time and she laughed and made some comment which I didn’t understand and she was going back and forth with me. Very badly customer service. Then she goes to check and I can hear her saying no I don’t think he’ll wait meaning they’re not ready yet. So she brings me half of what I wanted so I just left. Their pastries are normally good, however today I bought some pastry and tried one in the car and noted it was old and dry. I went inside to tell them and the cashier told me they were made yesterday. I said maybe, but you have mixed with them the older ones. She started arguing with me and called the baker from the kitchen to convince me she made them yesterday, and they are supposed to taste like that. That they are not supposed to be soft, but crunchy. I told them I know the difference and this is not how it is supposed to be.They should be open to criticism if they wantvto maintain their customers, specially in Glendale with so much competition. The two stars are for the pastries. Honestly, they're really good and cheap, and the only reason I ever entertain the idea of coming here. The problem is their customer service. The young women who work behind the counter are some of the least friendly workers I've ever encountered! They act like they'd rather be anywhere in the world but there, and always make me feel like I'm bothering them when I come in and ask to buy some pastries. Judging from the other reviews of this place, I'm not alone in this, so I have to wonder why the owner hasn't done anything about it by now.
