Firehouse Subs - Gonzales, LA: A Disappointing Experience

I’ve tried to get food from this Firehouse Subs location twice, and both times I left empty-handed and frustrated due to poor service and mismanagement.

The first time, I arrived at 8:30 PM, well before their 9:00 PM closing time, only to be told by the employees that they were done for the night and wouldn’t take my order. A restaurant closing early without explanation is already disappointing, but I gave them another chance.

The second time, I placed an order through their mobile app for four sandwiches totaling $56.35. When I arrived, I was told they didn’t have white bread or roast beef, meaning they couldn’t make my order. When I asked to cancel it, the employees told me I had to do it through the app. However, the app directed me back to the store, putting me in an endless loop with no resolution.

I had no choice but to reorder from another location, and the next day, I called to request a refund. That’s when the experience got even worse. The manager was incredibly rude, interrupting me and saying "Calm down, ma’am"—even though I was already speaking normally. Before I could finish explaining the situation, she hung up on me. Instead of helping, she refused to process my refund and dismissively said, "I guess you can come in and get a sandwich", completely ignoring the fact that I already repurchased my food elsewhere.

It has been 3 business days and I am still waiting for a refund or the contact from the managerial team that support keeps saying will happen

This location has horrible customer service, unprofessional management, and clear operational issues. If I could give zero stars, I would. If you’re considering stopping by, do yourself a favor and go to a different location.

RACIST PIGS!!!! DO NOT EAT HERE! Absolute worst experience. I came here yesterday with my husband and infant daughter yesterday, and experienced horrific, racist treatment from the staff. I wear a headscarf and it’s obvious we are Muslim. I ordered a grilled chicken sub and they brought me a sub with turkey with sliced ham hidden underneath it, knowing pork is forbidden in my religion because we stated so when I ordered. I noticed it was clearly sliced ham not grilled chicken and told the employee and he adamant it was grilled chicken. When he went back to the counter he and the rest of staff started laughing and looking our direction. My husband went back up to counter to try and get the correct sub and they argued once again it was chicken. After minutes they “realized “ it was in fact “wrong” and gave an insincere apology. I’m not paranoid, it’s clear they tried to sneak ham into my sub simply to be prejudiced to our kind. I’ve been victim of racial slurs and actions before but this was taken too far, I will not shut up about this until these racist bigots are reprimanded for their wrongdoing to my family. I usually eat at this Firehouse Sub 3 to 4 times a month. Staff is usually friendly, and the food is spot on. Today's visit, I was waited on by a female who should be educated about customer service, especially if you take a job dealing with the public. It seemed to be a problem for me to come in and order some food. Rude and impatient, even tho I knew what I wanted by the time I got to the register. I did not catch her name, but tall & slim with some sort of maroon dyed horse hair or polyester wig curled up on top of her head and an otherwise dark exterior. Please maam, even if you don't like your job, act like you do, so maybe you keep it. Figure I should mention to be clear, I did order a combo & tapped the no tip button bc I usually have a few bucks cash on me. (Tax reasons, try to help) This day, I did not. As I was walking out, I decided to get just a sub for lunch tomorrow at work. On this sub, against my better judgment with the service received this far, I did tip $3.
