One of the worst Mexican restaurants I’ve eaten at. I ordered carnitas quesadillas, and not only did they look lame, they tasted equally so. The carnitas were incredibly bland and stank. I could tell the cheese used for the quesadillas was of low quality, and the tortillas were greasy and burned. I think it was the waiter himself who might have prepared the food. Well, if that were so, I wish he hadn’t been practicing his cooking skills on PAYING customers. The dinner came with rice and beans, but there was only one tiny spoonful of either. Seriously? My mother, who ordered the grilled chicken, said the beans reeked, and the chicken gave her heartburn. Oh, yeah, her chicken wasn’t worth the $10 we paid for it. Chicken was dry and looked like a “chancleta” and was topped with melted cheese. I’ve never seen grilled chicken bathed with melted cheese. Further, whoever prepared it didn’t even try to hide the fact that was hardly any food on the plate. Usually Mexican restaurants are notorious for filling your burrito or quesadilla with lettuce. Well, the sorry excuse of a salad we got on the plate shouldn’t even have been called a salad, as there were just a few shreds of lettuce and a giant glob of cream on top.
Honestly, this place overcharges for what it serves. My mother and I wish we had gone to a fast food restaurant instead. At least the quality and quantity are consistent at those places. (This is precisely why I don’t immediately support small businesses without a proven record for quality.)
Now, in terms of ambiance, the restaurant is a hole-in-the-wall and reeked like it too.
I’m not from Granbury, but if I ever return (unlikely), I’m not returning to...
Read moreI decided not to judge a book by its cover and try this place out even though the outside sign and appearance is unappealing. We came in on a Saturday one hour before closing because we were at the beach across the street. Our server was kind but besides taking our order, did not check much on us, we had to keep waving or calling to get refills or any other thing. Staff seemed to be more focused on putting things away and cleaning since they were approaching closing time. Our kids got quesadillas and gorditas and they liked those. My wife and I had the parrillada and it was disappointing. Meat and chicken were overcooked and hard to chew. You only get two small links of sausage that are cut in 4 to appear as if was more food. Charro beans were some of the worst we have had. Tiny portion of rice was very good, left me wanting more. Home made flour tortillas smelled amazing but far from being fresh. Maybe they were awesome early when they opened but an hour before closing you could not fold the flour tortilla without breaking it. Towards the center of the tortilla where it wasn’t so toasted you could tell they tasted good. It would have been amazing having these when they were fresh. Tres leches cake was old and felt dry. Flan was very good. Based on this experience I would...
Read moreThis is a good place to eat. Food is great. Surprisingly they have hot wings which are pretty large size along with several types and varieties of entrees. The prices online do not reflect the price you'll pay when picking up. They change their price either spur of the moment or how business is or has been the day before. And they tag on a dollar to your cc even if it's carry out. Not good business practices. In all fairness ld have to say again the food is good. The service is good also but depending on who is working both are subject to change especially service. At times the hostess acts like its a bother to do her job and isn't very upbeat or customer friendly. She doesn't ask if you enjoyed your visit or even say thankyou. Attendant waiter/waitress could be more attentive. And it is sad to have to mention if you pay with plastic you may find an extra fee adjustment a couple of days later. I'm not sure why. Maybe to offset lost tips other people may not have left. Prices are subject to change without notice especially...
