I am a long time, repeat customer at Paradise Bistro, however that will no longer be the case after my experience on 11/10 and again on 11/11. I work double shifts in Granbury on the weekends and often have to call out for lunch and dinner, which requires that I leave work to pick up my order. This being said, I am very specific when I call in an order because as a nurse I cannot return if my order isn’t correct, I’m just stuck with it. So, I called paradise and ordered a Greek salad, with an extra Greek dressing, a sandwich, and a soup. I picked up my order which with tip was 27$! When I finally got to sit down to eat I found that they neglected to give me dressing for the salad, the bread for the sandwich was not toasted and was therefore soggy, and the soup was worse than Campbell’s straight out of the can! Not happy but this was one of my favorite places to go while in Granbury, so, I went back the next day to let them know what had happened, only to be given a very vacant sorry with no offers of resolution. However, being hungry with limited time, I ordered a 1/2 sandwich 1/2 salad combo, again asking for Greek salad and dressing. After a long waiting period, they brought me my order, again no salad dressing! Same girl asked me again what type of dressing I desired when I had to go and ask for salad dressing! When I finally got the dressing, I poured the salad out of the bowl onto a plate. The Greek salad I received had about 10 small pieces of romaine lettuce, 4 purple olives, less than a spoon full of feta and that’s it. The one small serving of dressing they provided for the salad was actually too much for the amount of lettuce! I took the salad up to the counter and asked them to take a look at it, once again the response was vacant of any real concern, I explained that the salad was unacceptable for the $$ charged. The waitress kept the salad, offered no resolutions or refunds and simply said “sorry!” Well Paradise Cafe, so am I! I will not be returning to your establishment. Nor will my 2 daughters and their children or my 2 sons and their children, nor my mother or my 2 sisters! So collectively you have lost 7 adult customers and 6 children, plus spouses, that’s another 6 adults. So, do your addition, then multiply that by the 2-3 times a month that we stopped in x’s the $$ of your food then maybe after doing so you will understand the impact of your I don’t give a f#%k attitude has cost your...
Read moreWe visited Paradise Bistro & Coffee shop around 1:30 on a Friday after walking around the Square.
There weren't too many patrons, yet, and we were greetd promptly by more than one friendly staff member.
Looking for a bite to eat, my wife ordered the chicken salad sandwich with home-cooked chips and unsweet tea, while I chose the Reuben with sweet potatoe fries and water.
Since everything is made to order, the wait time wasn't bad at all.
My wife enjoyed the chicken salad, as it has small chuncks of chicken, rather than shredded, mushy chicken, and red grapes. She said the chips were great!
My Reuben was tasty and well prepared, with all of the flavors coming through, but not overpowering. The sweet potato fries were perfectly cooked, being crispy on the outside and lightly salted, with a cooked and tender inside!
Refills on tea and water were quickly dispatched, with all of the staff pitching in to make the dining experience pleasant.
There are many homemade pastries and desserts from which to choose, and I couldn't resist taking home a caramel pecan cinnamon roll. 20 seconds in the microwafe with a cup of coffee the next morning made rolling out of bed worth the effort!
As a bonus, the walls are decorated with wares from local artists. These pieces are for sale a reasonable prices.
PPS: We came back the next day for a light dinner. My wife had the Mahi Tacos, served in a taco stand with two soft flour tortillas, lotsa fish and other good ingredients, and a wedge of lime. It came with a side of mixed veggies, consisting of kale, red cabbage, and brussel sprouts, and a secret spice that gives it a little kick, then sauted in some wine to reduce it down a little. I had a bowl of Green Chili Chicken Cheese Soup with two pieces of Jalapeno Cheddar bread. It was excellent, especially with the...
Read moreWhile looking to try a new brunch spot, I came across Paradise and it looked to have good reviews and it was one of the few restaurants on the square we hadn’t tried. Since it was a Sunday it was pretty crowded and with it being seat yourself the only spot we were able to grab was a tight little spot in the corner right by the front door. I was excited for the avocado toast only to be let down by a smorgasbord of ingredients on top of a soggy piece of bread. It was so oily it was making my stomach churn; so, I didn’t finish it but did pick off some of the avocado and cheese. The fruit cup was nothing special, just your regular melon melody sitting in liquid. My White Chocolate Iced Latte though was really good. My boyfriend ordered one of the breakfasts that came with pancakes and bacon and he did said it was good and finished it all. He did compare his “Americana” however, to “Maxwell House Drip coffee” which was incredibly underwhelming considering it’s a “coffee shop”. I did really like the atmosphere, the dimmer lights and total coffee shop vibes; I could definitely see my self taking my laptop up there during the week and quietly working. Overall it wasn’t horrible and I think we will give it another shot and try different things given it has good reviews from others. Maybe we just had a one...
