The Silver Saddle Saloon, an ice cream parlor designed to resemble an old western saloon, is located in the darling historic Grandbury Square. Known for their homemade ice cream, they also serve sherbets, sorbets, sundaes, shakes, banana splits and floats. They also feature beer, wine, spirits, candy and pub style food like Frito Pie, Salads, Queso and Chips, Paninis, Sandwiches, Sliders and a really unique kids menu.
Our order: We came for an ice cream and I enjoyed mine on a waffle cone with Cotton Candy and Butter Pecan flavors. The hubs choose TX Honey Whiskey and their Jack and Coke flavors in a cup. We drive 30 min each way to enjoy their ice cream and a drive around the square.
Silver Saddle Saloon offers a family friendly atmosphere with parlor tricks, checkers, checkers, chess, dominos, 8 man poker, billiards, TV’s, a book exchange library, live music, dancing, Bunko, and other events - check their social calendar before going! The front of the store is set up like an old general store with ice cream, candy, sodas and gifts. The back half of the bar is where the music, games and dancing take place.
It’s a great place for families and we highly recommend their ice cream! If you’re lucky, you’ll find a patio table out front to eat your ice cream and...
Read moreWe come here often when visiting our parents from out of town, and it’s always been great. Today our kids brought their allowance and wanted to check out the toys. My 2 year old son was going to get either the toy pistol or the shotgun, and the girls were picking out barnyard stuffed animals. They were all quiet and well behaved. One of the female employees in a red shirt suddenly came over all in a huff and started spraying everything we were touching with disinfectant cleaner. We had to move out of her way to allow her to do this. She was visibly annoyed. Then she told me, “PLEASE be careful with those toys. Someone broke the string on one of them last week.” It was clear we weren’t wanted there, so I made the kids put their toys back, and we left. If someone would like to reach out and apologize, I’d be happy to remove this review. But my sister and her husband, and my parents and I all thought that the owner would want to know about this. The other two employees were extremely friendly and made us...
Read moreWhat a great place to visit and hang out. Kudos to Rebecca for having created such a welcoming, homey environment. There is Incredible TX craft ice cream to savour, plus a full bar in the back with a couple of TV's. There is a billiard table upstairs and an 8 man poker table. There are table games, a book exchange library, local goods and food and also a display of art by local artists. The parlor tricks are of course fascinating and the costumes worn add to the vibe of an authentic saloon. The invited musical guests are some of the best local talent that this area has to offer. The service is impeccable. One can really tell that they know their stuff through consistent training. Rebecca, you have sacrificed so much in order to create this delightful space for so many of us to enjoy. Nothing like this exists for miles around. Wishing you many many years of success. Cheers and the best of...
