Arts & Letters Bookstore is a complete gem in Granbury! Every single time we have visited we have been greeted fondly, we have been offered help numerous times, and the employees are engaging and friendly. This isn’t something we experience just toward ourselves, but while visiting we see how open and helpful the staff members are to anyone who walks in their doors. From our very first visit to now, the bookstore and its staff have created a wonderfully welcoming environment.

This bookstore has a fantastic children and young adult section. It is our toddler’s favorite store in Granbury. It probably helps that they do story hour every Sunday and we go as often as we can! Great selection of books across all genres and what they don’t have they can order in. We don’t mind this, as it gives us an excuse to visit again!

Stumbled into this store while walking the square and quite enjoyed it. Lots of selections and we were greeted by two ladies behind the counter. Only reason its four stars instead of five is because they were going on and on (granted, not to us, but still loud enough to hear) about getting vaccinated and covid and disparaging those who don't get the shot. Whether I'm for or against it is irrelevant, I don't think it's very professional to discuss those sort of topics while working.

Went in to just browse the selections and the employee present asked, “Can I help you look for anything?” I simply replied, “No, thank you. I’m just looking around.”

Her next comment was, “Okay. You can pick up the book and read the covers so that you can know what the book is about.”

The comment felt and sounded condescending and undermining, especially being the only POC in the shop. No other customers was asked or told the same thing. Ruined my entire mood to consider...
