Temptations — Restaurant in Grand Haven

I have to update my review. They generously sent me a $20 gift certificate to make up for my negative experience. I just hope that they do reconsider their two flavor policy even on a six scoop cone before my next visit, for hopefully a more welcoming and accommodating visit. Thank you. 🙂

Previous review - I ordered from the Temptations outside of the Grand Haven Waterfrot early July 2023. I ordered a jumbo waffle cone with six scoops, and was told I could not more than two flavors. I wanted four, and could have settled for three. They said they could not do more than two flavors due to a “store policy”, even though the size I purchased came with six scoops. This seems quite unaccomodating, on a $9.00 ice cream nonetheless. It was quite frustrating and disappointing. So I downgraded my cone to a super for $2 less and settled on two flavors. The blue moon was bland the night I went, but apparently it was a bad batch (that they said they promptly replaced), and I was sent a generous gift certificate which was much appreciated. Everything was good you just need to get your hours straight. Came in for ice cream after lunch and one of the kids wanted to wait for his till after dinner. Asked the staff what time they close and they said not sure if tonight is 9 or 10 and they were about to ask someone else. I said no worries we won’t be that late at all. Walked back over after dinner to get the one kiddo that was looking forward all day to getting a shake and they were closed by 7:15. Checked online says they are open to 9 today. No window signs saying what hours. Moral of the story just please get your hours straight so the next parent doesn’t have a kid in tears for no reason. I'm not sure if they are having a freezer issue or trying to finish last year's stock but the ice cream was so freezer burnt I might as well had the old as heck I've cream in my freezer instead of paying what we paid. My boyfriend went back to get his at a later date to get his cone and went back and said look this is beyond freezer burnt so they said they we're sorry gave him a tiny cup with half a scoop and it was more freezer burtm that the cone was. Maybe in the middle of the season they are really good but o will never go back there again I ordered a hot fudge sundae minuw the toppings but nope they ass the fake can cream on top with toppings and the 'hot" fudge I asked for wasn't hot not ever warm to begin...
