Sophias House of Pancakes — Restaurant in Grand Ledge

I'm in the same boat as everyone else about how this place used to be good...

Their portions have dwindled tremendously and food quality way down as well. I brought up my concerns and was dismissed as if "oh well". Not even an apology. When I sent the food back they sent the waitress out to rebuttal. Not even the manager could approach me first. I'm very calm and collective so there isn't a reason to avoid confrontation about my critism about the quality to portion to price. Disappointment is how I left and after this visit I'll doubt I will return

Edit after i saw it was reviewed: you even knew what i got - this should tell you that what i showed you wasnt acceptable. It was the 4 egg skillet, but when i shoved it all to one side it took up 1/3 of the skillet, i brought this up and you dismissed me saying i ate it, my wife and my child were there to witness it as well as the waitress - nothing was put in my mouth. It wasnt untill you turned to the kitchen he nodded because they even saw. What i truly want to express is how your manors on approaching (lack of) and handling of this situation was poor. Thats what is holding me back from going back. You didnt come to the table when i asked the manager to see what was going on, you refused to take it back to the kitchen then you almost forced me to pay for it even after me expressing my concerns about how the portion was not there - visibly so.

I say stay away from this place - this experience might have just been mine but it was such a tough hit to take i refuse to go back and cant recommend it. To see this reply on my review almost comes off as condescending like how i was treated. To even say what i ordered makes me realize i know it was the person i brought my concerns to and enforces the fact i was treated with disrespect even though employees and family were there to witness it.

Side note about the experience: i paid for my wife's meal - the concern was over my small portion skillet that the manager didnt want to take time to address and argue over it. I used to go there just for the skillet, i understand inflation and portions but when i can scrape it to the side and it only covers 1/3 of the skillet i call shenanigans. I had the rudest experience at this restaurant, I ordered our food and only one order came out correct they brought my hashbrowns out darn near raw and I asked for them to cook them hard instead of taking my whole meal back. They left it on the table to get cold not to mention from the time she took my hashbrowns back to be cooked correctly. Nine minutes have already passed, and she took three other orders when I finally got her attention her reply to me was they’re still cooking and we both know it doesn’t take hashbrowns that long to cook in a restaurant on a grill so then I politely told her I don’t want any of the food that belong to me but I would pay for what my girl ate then the manager or owner comes up to the table at first trying to be polite, and I specifically told him that I was not paying for something that I did not eat that you guys got wrong and then expected me to eat cold food that’s when his whole attitude change and he told me I’m going to pay for it or he’s gonna call the police now keep in mind I haven’t even got my food because of your mess ups and now that I don’t want it because the person that’s eating with me has finished their meal and we’ve came out to breakfast together so he says I’m going to call the police on you but not knowing the police were already in there eating breakfast so they go get the police he tells the police that I am going to pay for what I ordered. Make a long story short. I gave him 20 bucks for the meal that was eaten and he didn’t get a penny more he was very rude Unprofessional and I’ve never been to a place where you tell a paying customer you’re going to pay for something that you did not eat all I felt was racist vibes from this place only putting on to get people’s money they could care less about us.
