My Ma & I enjoy visiting different coffee shops, & on today we innocently yet excitedly decided to treat ourselves here at the Grandview Hts location per google recommendation. VERY poor vibes & treatment during this visit. We walked in excited yet received no greeting, warmth, or welcoming from neither of the 2 staff members behind the counter at this location upon entrance of the establishment, nor in approach to the counter when it was our turn to make a purchase. Although we were ignored & not greeted, we were stared at as if it was back in the Civil Rights era & we entered a business that had a “NO BLKS allowed sign on the door.” It was very peculiar that the customer before us in line was given a friendly greeting & as we were finishing our purchase, the customer that enter the business & was in line directly behind us was also given a friendly greeting as they were finishing our transaction, by BOTH Winans’ servers/employees. What is the reason for this, as we were innocent, professional paying customers as well???? Even when we had questions re: menu items, being that we were new customers the cashier was not customer friendly in response/tone, she was almost obv. ANNOYED. When my Ma decided to make a 2nd purchase on another menu item to go, the other employee rudely ignored us yet chimed in & informed the cashier to “hurry up & ensure that you charge her,” although we had already made a purchase & was going to willing make the added purchase. It seems obv that either these employees are being trained to act on ANTI DEI, or they are obv just not caring for / willing to serve BLK customers! It seems majority of the positive comments are from races other than blks, so it may be apparent that perhaps blacks aren't sincerely welcomed. Such a shame in 2025, that this sort of negative treatment towards different ethnic groups or skin tones is tolerated. We are not willing to tolerate such poor treatment & will not be returning to this location. It may be covertly accepted by this establishment to treat BLKS this way, & other blk customers may just choose to ignore it but word of mouth does travel & we will ensure ppl of different ethnic back grounds are aware of this...
Read moreOne star for the appearance alone, however, the experience and actual coffee deserve zero stars. We drove 35 minutes to try out their coffee as it came highly recommended from a Columbus foodie group. We enter the establishment and three workers are at the terminal chatting; no one bothered to greet or welcome us. Walk up to the register, still dead silence. It was obvious we had never been there, we were trying to figure out the menu and see if they had any fall drink options. Finally decided to just order something as no one seemed interested in helping us. We ordered a double shot espresso and a flavored frap. As we were waiting for our drinks, a man & his dog entered the establishment’s and they were promptly greeted. The workers perked up and even had a bubbly personality while helping the gentlemen. One worker stopped what she was doing to greet the dog and make him a treat. When it was time to retrieve our drinks, again - silence. The worker placed our drinks on the counter, remained silent and never even thanked us. To say I’m highly disappointed is an understatement. I came there with my teen son as a treat since he was off from school for a Fall break. The day was supposed to start with coffee and breakfast, but that started our excursion on a sour note. I will never step foot back into the establishment. Oh, let me say the double shot espresso I ordered was severely watered down and tasted like bean water. Again, I’ll never waste...
Read moreIt went from good to bad in a mater of minutes. This place is cool and all. They serve coffee and wine and some snacks. It’s an okay place to chill and catch up with an old friend of something. It’s nothing absolutely spectacular. My fiancé and I would meet there occasionally to start our Saturday mornings off going through our premarital book! I would give them At least a four star but I one Saturday morning a person walked in with their dog ( which I’m not a fan of) and everyone was excited about it. The dog (golden retriever)proceeded to clim up on the counter and the workers came around to pet the dog . But they DID NOT wash their hands after that. And proceeded to serve guest. I watched the whole thing happen. After that my fiancé and I stopped going. This was At least two months prior to me writing this post but I just drove by and remembered I didn’t write my review anyway. Proceed...
