I was in this area shopping for cars and got a hankering for some good tasting Texmex, but I wanted something creative, not just you standard enchiladas and taco place. So, I fired up a search and found Los Amigos and decided to give it a try. Well, I am glad to say that I was not disappointed. There were definitely some creative choices on their menu that you don't find just anywhere. I can't remember what I has was called, because it was something I had never had anywhere before or ever heard of. All I know was that it was delicious. A real taste bud pleaser. I'll post a picture of it (it is the plate with the red looking entrée). I had my wife and son with me, and they both got a delicious entrée as well (Which I took several bites of, Of Course! LOL!). Everything at Los Amigos was good and the service was friendly. If it was not 200 miles from where I live, I would come here often. But I may actually come back, because it is located in a kind of cultural tourist district that kind of reminded me of Fredericksburg, TX. I did not have time to stop and spend time there, but it looks like a very interesting place with lots of neat attractions for the family. I may travel back to this area in my new-to-me car that I bought that day.

A friend and I stopped for a late dinner and failed to realize it was close to closing time. The person that half a** greeted us was not friendly. After seating us, came the waitress, which she was pleasant. She took our order and for an appetizer I ordered queso flameado, which is one of many staple dishes in Mexico, which was very greasy. We ordered a chicken burrito with green sauce and Chile Relleno of ground beef with cheese. She asked what topping and I’ve never had that asked, so I said sour cream. The results were not appealing to the eye. We tried the dishes, and as they looked, it’s how it tasted, bland. Rice was not flavorful, meat sauce was dripping with grease, and the refried beans were can beans. Only item we seemed to have enjoyed were the charro beans. I will not be returning to this place, it’s not authentic as the sign portrays outside. This is definitely Tex-Mex 2nd grade level, in my opinion. I lived in Mexico for 4 years, so I actually do know the taste of “comida mexicana auetentica “

This little independent Mexican restaurant has been here for a while. It's been years (lots) since the last time I was here. My first impression of a Mexican restaurant is the salsa. The salsa was great! The guacamole was very generous and very good. I had the mixed meat "fajita" meal. (I don't remember the name.) The portion was generous, and the meat came out sizzling. I had to wait a few minutes to eat it. It was well prepared. My only minor complaint was that it wasn't very heavily spiced (I'm not just referring to "heat" here either.) Any marinade that was used was very light. I'd like to see the marinade/spice punched up a bit. I had the same comment by the way about a popular place I ate on Friday night. So maybe my tastebuds have dulled in my old age. Our server was very friendly and attentive. I definately recommend you try this independent business for yourself. And by the way, they don't serve cheese with their fajitas. So if you want cheese, you'll have to ask for it.

Let me save you some time. Among all the restaurants & foods I've tried this is the lowest I've ever reviewed a restaurant. Atmosphere: small but charming like a mom & pop. Good music. But, God forbid someone orders fajitas the entire restaurant becomes a smoke cloud. Had that experience with ONE person's order. I cannot imagine if more than 2-3 ppl order fajitas! Drinks: my bf got a frozen mango margarita that the server quoted us $9 for happy hour. Yet when we got our check it was $13. When asked he said "oh flavor is more" Really?? Yet you failed to mention that at first. I got an horchata & it was a completely watered down disappointment. I took 3 sips. We didn't get our cutlery + napkins till AFTER food arrived. The 1st server we asked left & never came back like he disappeared into a portal. We asked our server, so we asked twice. Servers: we had a very high energy, but nice waiter, who seemed to be just a tad overbearing, but he was probably being fast coz I only saw 1 other waiter. BUT while we're eating I see this waiter standing in the corner of the room eating his food in plain sight visible to every person there. This raises serious questions about professionalism & hygiene standards. LET'S talk about the FOOD: I respect food a lot & have never used this term when I talk abt it. But this was bordering disgusting. -The tortillas were 100% store bought & lacked authenticity. Tasted cheap. Birria meat was okay, but the quesabirria as a whole was one of the worst I've ever had. The consome was terrible. Ordered the steak + a cheese enchilada plate with rice & beans. How did I get two pieces of steak cooked completely different? One was cooked like an okay steak, tasted fine. The other was almost like a shredded fajita & the actual meat was almost like puree meat?!? The consistency was so weird like if you've ever had chicken liver. THAT consistency! The rice & beans were sub-par, but at least par. The ranchero cheese enchilada was absolutely appaling. The moment that sauce touched my tongue it irked me so bad. Immediate thoughts? Like weird tomatoey pasta sauce 🤢 It was revolting.

I don't recommend this place to anyone who loves Mexican food. Overall I would give this...

If you're looking for a taqueria without tacos, Los Migos is your spot. First off, our server managed to mess up two drinks in one go, then had the nerve to roll her eyes when we politely asked for the one we actually ordered. A strong start.

Now here’s the wild part—despite a huge “TACOS” sign by the front door and tacos all over their social media, our waitress confidently told us they don’t make tacos. Just burritos. No bean and cheese, no egg and bacon, no carne asada. Since we were trying to order in English, We even then ordered in Spanish, being my family’s first language (since she clearly spoke it), and she rolled her eyes again like we offended her by trying to communicate. And still insisted that they don’t make tacos.. At a taqueria. I mean… what are we doing?

We ended up with bitter drinks, chips and “salsa” that tasted like canned tomato sauce, and a side of attitude. And yes, they charged us for it all. The person in charge didn’t ask what happened—just sighed and said, “I knew it was because of her,” referring to our server. Yikes.

Now, maybe it was just the server we got. Hopefully things get situated and this isn’t how they treat everyone. It’s not that deep—we’re over it—but if you’re looking for actual tacos, decent service, or just a basic Arnold Palmer without confusion and eye-rolling, you might want to go elsewhere. Just letting others know...

I do not see how it is possible this restaurant has any more than two stars. They must pay for positive reviews. Took my six member family there and it took nearly 40 minutes for the food to get to the table. The restaurant was about 70 percent filled at the time. I ordered tacos El carbon and was thoroughly disgusted with The meal. The meat quality was substandard for fajita and very over cooked in heavy oil. There was absolutely no flavor to it. Chewing cardboard would’ve been more satisfying.. The rice and beans were served to me at room temperature. When I paid for everyone’s meal, The manager asked me if everything was OK. I told him that the rice and the beans were cold and the meat not very good and it took to long to get the food. He told me that he was sorry it didn’t seem good and further stated we should come back and try it again. I told him we don’t live in the area and this was a one time thing. No adjustments were made for the poor service or the subpar food. If everybody who eats here thinks it’s that good, you should all get out a little more and try some different restaurants out. I can think of at least two Other restaurants that are not that far and will blow your socks off if you actually believe this is good...
