Update 10/25/20: let me start off by saying that this isn’t the first time I’ve been back to the Whataburger since my last update. This update is a culmination of the past 5-10 visits which all came to a head today with one of the worst experiences I’ve had at a fast food place ever. I placed an online order for my family with curbside pickup. The order was supposed to be ready at 10:18, I arrived there right at 10:25... the line for the drive through was too long to get into the parking lot, so I waited in the turn lane... FOR 20 MINS and the line didn’t move AT ALL. Finally I turned around and went and parked in the back parking lot... I just went in since I couldn’t get to the curbside pickup spot. When I went to the counter they said that my order wasn’t ready yet (mind you it was supposed to be ready at 10:18 and now it’s 10:45). They finally got it ready, I walked out to my truck and checked the bag and they were missing all of the hash browns, I went back in, they gave me the hash browns. I drove home and then when we opened the sandwiches we ordered all of them were wrong (sausage instead of bacon, bun instead of biscuit). To say that this is frustrating would be an understatement. If I could give a 0 stars I would. Whoever the owner or manager is for this store needs to step up and help turn this place around.
Update 5/13/18: decided to give it another try... I waited in the drive through line for almost half an hour (there were only 5 cars in front of me when I arrived). This is still the worst and most incompetent Whataburger I’ve ever experienced. ........... I’ll start off by saying that I love Wharaburger... definitely one of my favorite fast food restaurants And this low rating is only for this specific location...
I live around the corner from this location and have been here many times and have never really had a positive experience. The service is always slow, they rarely get my order right, and the employees are not friendly.
Today’s visit was no different. I waited in the drive through line for almost 20 minutes and only had 5 cars in front of me. Bobbi, the lady working the window was rude, she didn’t even say hello when I drove up and seemed annoyed that she had to be working. My food was cold - very cold... my order was wrong - wrong drink, wrong sandwich. Not the first bad experience and probably not the last.
I’ll try and avoid this location from...
Read moreWe've lived in Grapevine for more than 20 years, and this location, while always slow, has become terrible in recent years. The past two times we've tried to visit (once at night and once at 8:30 a.m. on a Wednesday), we've left for other options, because not only were there six or seven vehicles ahead of us, they hardly moved after waiting five or 10 minutes (I wish I was exaggerating).
Good food is worth waiting for, but fast food just isn't. And speaking of the food, there is no consistency with their gravy. Sometimes it's great, but more often it's very thin. We also often don't receive at least one item that we ordered. Should we check the bag before leaving? Apparently so, though it's not hard to double-check the receipt to make sure each item ordered and paid for is included inside the bag(s).
I wouldn't even bother ordering on the app. I've done that about five times, and every single time it took at least 10 minutes (often 15+) longer than the app shows my pick-up time should be. And, as others have mentioned in their reviews, you'll often get pinned into your spot due to the long drive-thru lines.
One final note is that for several years I had a steady stream of text communication with the owner of the two Grapevine locations along Northwest Highway, and I would let him know when I experienced issues. He was always kind with his responses, but either nothing was ever communicated to his on-site teams, or he just continues to hire people who are unable to consistently perform their jobs.
I know we all love Whataburger (I grew up eating it), but I also know that this location can do better, and I really hope that at some point in the future they can learn that consistency and speed...
Read moreWhataburger! Do I have to say anything else? Texans have always loved they're Whataburger! Great burgers, custom made to order, great onion rings & fries, everything's all good. Open 24 hours for those late night munchies. Can it be any better? We are so lucky to have a Whataburger in Grapevine. 🍔&🍟,✌&❤.
Update: 7-6-22 / This Whataburger has changed in the last 4-6 weeks and is now offering lightly golden onion rings, (they used to be cooked very dark golden, almost burnt but not), which are cooked perfectly, but the portion size has decreased by 50%. Fry's are suffering from the 50% decrease as well, and they are not quality, firm golden fry's, but limp and greasy and cut too thin! I've spent $35-$45 twice in the last 30 days for my family of 3 grown people, (my wife and I, plus our 31 year old Son), for dinner. Both times the onion rings looked great, but we're VERY below average in size, (contents of onion ring bag only half full). The fries we're just poor quality both in size and apperance. My Son called in sick today from stomach distress and he very rarely misses work! He blames the poor food quality of Whataburger for his illness today. The Corona-19 Pandemic has this 24hr restaurant stretched out beyond it's abilities. It's no longer the best after hours burger place in Grapevine, as the 24hr McDonald's on Main Street is now more consistently better I'm sad to say. Whataburger has lost 2 star's since my original review, (was 5 star's). I'll wait 6 months or more before trying it again, then re-evaluate and post an updated review. Let's hope Whataburger picks up thier efforts and get those 2 star's back! McDonald's isn't that great unless your under 10...
