We checked into the hotel next door on Monday night, 5-20-24. We decided to go over to Denny's and get food before hitting the hotel pool later that day, so we walked across the parking lot and went inside, and the first thing we saw was two ladies standing at the register in front of us. Soon, a middle aged lady comes up behind the register, and proceeds to loudly tell the ladies standing there that she doesn't care what his problem is, she will 'fire his @ss'. And she continued to converse with the ladies there about who we later learned was the cook. She told us she was short staffed, and it was going to take a while to get us seated. I would say there were no more than 15 people there at the time. She seated us, and proceeded to tell us that she was the only one working the tables, and it would be a 40 minute wait or longer for food. Well, we have time to kill so we didn't mind. What we did mind was the use of profanity in front of the 12 year old that was with us. Regardless, we sat down, and she came back some time later with drinks. I ordered coffee, the two others in our party ordered soda. While we were waiting, we heard the couple hear us ask for milkshakes. The middle aged woman snapped back that someone took the ice cream out and didn't put it back, 'So no, we don't have milkshakes, you can forget about it.'. We were kind of shocked at the sarcasm, and the loud level she was speaking. But, because she was being so loud, we were able to hear other interactions as well; another customer sat alone in a booth waiting for his food, drinking coffee. When he tried to flag her down for what was the third cup since we got there, she told him she was busy, and maybe she should just hook him up to an IV to save herself some time. It didn't take quite as long for our food to come out as she had assumed, but when it did, there were fruit flies bussing around our plates. Other than that, the food was ok. Not great. Just ok. (and before anyone asks, no, so sign of bugs IN the food). We tried to get her attention several times for drink refills, to no avail. We finally got our check and left. I was very upset to see that we had been charged $2.99 for about 5oz of coffee, and $2.99 each for approximately 8oz of soda with no refills. This was the first time I went to Denny's in years because of the poor service in Springfield, Missouri...this will certainly...
Read moreMe and my husband visited this location last Sunday. We were seated immediately. The waitress told us from across the room she would be with us in a moment but never came to the table. We waited for about 20 or 25 minutes, which we never do at any restaurant. We were calm, never got loud or rude. This was Palm Sunday so we went to a couple other places, they were crowded for breakfast. We didn't want to go anywhere else. Finally another lady(waitress) came to the table and took our drink orders. I advised her we were ready to give our order. She said, our waitress would be over to get it. We waited 10 minutes before the same lady that took our drink order would get our food order. We waited some more and finally received our food. It was hot and okay. We almost finished our food and two white individuals came and sat in the booth in front of us. The waitress went over to their table and started to talk to them and take their drink order. Still never once said, "Are you okay?" "You need anything else?" Didn't acknowledge us anymore after that one time. We got up and went to the register to pay our bill. A bill was never brought to us. The cashier asked how was everything. My husband told her that service was horrible. The food wasn't bad. She just continued to check us out without acknowledging the comment. I didnt get the point of asking. So. I am still not sure why the waitress didn't come to the table. Was she racist? She sure went to the white peoples table. I don't want to make it seem like I am pulling a race card but what else could it be. The behavior was unacceptable. If she is racist, doesn't like her job then it's best not to work in public places where you have to interact with people, especially different races. We will not be going back. I will be calling the head quarters. This location may need to be investigated, or additional training on customer service. I don't know but what I do know if nothing is said...
Read moreSince the manager, franchise owner(s) and corporate do not care about my issue, I will post it here for all to see. My friends and I visited this location (party of 4) a few weeks ago and were the ONLY customers at the time. It took a little over 1.5 hours to get our food. The waitress kept saying she was in training, but a woman with purple hair was following her around helping her, so that was no excuse. When I went to my car, which was parked right outside the front door, I noticed it had been broken into. The window was shattered and my belongings from the center console scattered around. I went inside and asked if there were cameras and she did not know. I called the next morning and asked for the manager. I heard the woman tell him he had a phone call and he said what do they want. I told her I wanted to talk to him about an incident that happened. I heard him say get a name and number and he would call me back. She told me that he would call me soon. NEVER happened. So I contacted the corporate office via phone and online. They told me that the franchise owner would call me. NEVER happened. She said give it 5 days and call back if no call. I called back and once again NO CALL. I'm a victim of a crime that occurred on their parking lot and all I wanted to know was if there were cameras to possibly catch who did this. I paid for the repair out my pocket and know that Denny's would never offer to help cover that cost, since they can't even call back a customer to answer a simple question. How hard is it Denny's to make a 2 minute phone call? Do you not care about your customers? South County isn't the safest part in town anymore...you might want to consider security for your customers and employees and if you do have a camera, shame on you for not sharing that with me. Don't give your money to this place, they don't care about their customers and we all...
