We have two visits to discuss. First visit gets a 2 star. Wow! I'm not sure if I want to give a one-star due to our close to fire experience or give the one star due to the way management handled the situation. SPARKS FLEW UNDER THE TABLE AS AN ELECTRICAL SHORT OCCURED. **When an electric current flows down the wrong or unintended path with little to no electrical resistance. It can cause serious damage, fire, and even small-scale explosions. Our first visit was tragic!! There was an explosion under the table. I was sitting at the table, and sparks flew under the table on my side and landed on my hands as I was resting them in my lap under the table, waiting for the food to cook. I was shocked as I felt the heat on my hands. A couple of days later, I had small scorch burns on my hands, hence the reason in retrospect, I'm extremely disappointed in the way management handled the situation and lack of care for their customers. They informed us that this had occurred previously as they had issues with this particular table. Why keep using the dysfunctional table? Nevertheless!!! We chose the Korean BBQ option for our first visit. Once we assisted them in relocating us to another table and my nerves calmed, it was a decent dining experience. What I can not fathom is the fact that such an electrical short can cause serious damage, fire, and DID cause a small-scale explosion. Management adjusted 20% off of our bill. I would have at least comped my meal since the sparks literally flew on my hand and clothes, and I was directly affected by the small-scale explosion. I would have comped half the bill as good business practices based on the seriousness of the issue and the fact that this was our first visit!!! I digress!! My daughter begged me to go back for the steam pot. Her friend was visiting from out of state, so I agreed to go solely upon their request. It was lovely! We had a wonderful server!! His name was Cody, maybe Cory, if I remember correctly. He gets a 10!! He was extremely professional! He explained, in very thorough detail, the "how too" of the 🔥Hot Pot!! I'm not sure what happened behind closed doors. The only thing that matters is that he took care of us in a 5 star way, and we love and appreciate him for his awesomeness!! We were professionals at the Hot Pot😍😆 I went home and created my own! I was happy I listened to my daughter! It actually felt like my birthday!! We'd had a rough past two months as life happened, and this family time was needed. I was in amazing company, the food was amazing and the day was perfect. This visit gets a 5star I'm yet saltly and disappointed from the first visit, and I'll give KPOT Korean BBQ & Hot Pot a 2 Star for the first visit. This is solely based on the fact of classless and unprofessional care of customers who, like myself, will keep them in business. Take care of the people who take care of you. It's an elementary rule of business.💝

Nope. Came in on a Wednesday early evening after work before heading to an event. For the price, we would much rather cook at home or pay a nice restaurant to do the cooking. The menu on the table doesn’t align to the ordering tablet. While I really appreciate the prompt server attention, there was not nearly enough time to look at the menu before ordering, since we had just sat down as first time visitors. Very chewy, grisly beef, fatty pork, skin and tail on shrimp that you must peel raw, small and slimy scallops. Not much for vegetable choices. Grill was too hot, even on low. Oil burns off really fast, into the air and absorbs into clothes and hair. Food is burnt and undercooked at the same time. Very hot and crowded atmosphere with the majority of patrons that looked as if they just rolled out of bed, unshowered, prepared to span a 2-4 hour buffet. Some tables were so loud that our waitress couldn’t hear us talk. We are kinda small people and still had issues with booth spacing having zero leg room. Watched larger people struggle to fit into the booths and asking for more roomy tables. Not our scene at all. Must request extra tongs for handling raw vs cooked food which seems like a basic cross contamination issue. Had to retrieve our own silverware from a long line waiting at the sauce bar. Food burns too fast, and you have to keep working to move it around so it’s not enjoyable at all. Can’t enjoy appetizers and drinks due to having to add and turn grill items, spraying constantly moving them around. No salad bar. The ‘appetizers’ at the sauce bar are chewy old soggy spring rolls, crinkle fries, dried out fried dumplings and chicken nuggets. A few other things were there that I didn’t recognize. Plain white rice only is available. The sauce labels were too far up to read on the glass above, misaligned. Having a line behind you, rushing along make it not even worth trying. Servers and floor staff were nice. Felt so hectic and too many small plates with no organization. Eye-burning smoke continued to roll from our grill and all of the tables around even after we figured out how to turn ours off which the server was supposed to do. We didn’t request refills of food or drinks. Spent almost $100 for 2 grill selections (have to pay extra for ramen), a beer, and one cocktail. Left after 40 minutes, hot, hungry, and disappointed. Couldn’t wait to leave, had to wait 10+ minutes to receive check before we could pay then a bit longer to process the payment . Ran out smelling like 2 fry cooks on to a date night out. We were excited to try it, now we know. Don’t do it, it’s a trick. Badly executed concept.

Just wanted to post a heads-up for anyone wanting to visit the new KPot restaurant off West Gate City BLVD. Obviously, this was just our experience, and I truly hope other customers have a better one than we did.

Before we were seated we were asked to choose between BBQ, Hot Pot, or Both. Through our confusion and the little bits of information we could get from the hosts and our waitress, we pieced together that it had to do with the types of tables (some have a BBQ, some have Hot Pot stations, some have both) and they expected their customers to have that answer ready when they arrived, which feels unfair to their customers who may be unfamiliar with this type of dining experience. At the least, we were surprised they didn’t have some kind of spiel explaining it already prepared, as I’m sure we weren’t the only customers they’ve ever had who didn’t understand why we had to make a choice before we could even look at a menu. When we were seated, our waitress (who was truly lovely aside from this one thing) spoke so quietly it was difficult to hear her over the music and restaurant noise. When we told her we could barely hear her she said something to the effect of “oh, yeah, it’s pretty loud in here” and then continued speaking at the same level, so she was difficult to hear the whole time we were there.

The portions advertised in the menu pictures are extremely far from accurate, they’re barely a third of the amount pictured. Several things we got tasted awful, although in all fairness that could definitely be attributed to our own taste and not necessarily mean that the ingredients were off. The main issue we had with the food was the number of times we had to ask for something that we’d ordered but not been given. The final straw of this was when one of the things we’d ordered on the ordering tablet with a few other things never came out. We gave it a few minutes, because things ordered at the same time coming at different moments over 5ish minutes was something we’d come to expect, but when it was going on 10 minutes and we still hadn’t gotten our item, we asked about it. Two minutes later someone who wasn’t our waitress marched by our table and slung the plate onto the table, aggressively called out the name of the food, and marched away all in one swift moment.

We’d heard people talking about this place and warning that the service was awful, but we’d never actually been to a restaurant where the service was so bad it kept us from wanting to go again, so we took those reviews with a grain of salt. I’d like to hope that our experience was a novel one, but as it is just one more in a collection of bad experiences from this place, I’m not so sure.

I’ve never left negative reviews like this before, and I’m trying to be as fair and objective as I can with it. If we had known we would need to choose what type of table to sit at before we were seated, we would have absolutely done our research so we knew what to expect (although I can’t find anything on the KPot website explaining this). I don’t know if it’s fair to comment about the food, because I genuinely don’t know how much of it was due to our own tastes (even though several of us had issues with the same things). On a positive note, I will say that the Beef Bulgogi and the KPot Pork Belly were delicious. Also, as I mentioned already, our waitress was kind and as helpful as she could be, even though we had trouble hearing her.

If you’ve gone here/go here and have a fantastic experience, I’m thrilled for you. I just want to be real about how our experience was and what you might encounter as well. My friends and I enjoy trying out new places and this was the first surprisingly disappointing...

Highly recommend!! Returning in 2 weeks with a bigger party for a birthday event. Upon arrival, my initial encounter was with 2 young hostesses. One male and one female. Both had big smiles and a very welcoming aura. Wait time was quoted 30mins sent via text to our phones. They were extremely busy and packed. But i probably recieved a text within 15 mins after putting our names down. We decided on the KBBQ and hot pot. The portions were great! It wasn't so massive where you were forced to stuff your face or waste food. You can order more as needed. Everything we ordered was very fresh and well seasoned. Food was amazing. Our waitress was also very sweet and attentive. Another thing I'm thankful for is, the fries and chicken nuggets for my toddler. Kids are so picky. And this worked out well. Towards the end of the meal, my son accidentally touched the grill and cried a bit. Luckily he is very tough and did not sustain any injuries or burns. Children will always be Children and I think he learned from it. I asked our waitress for a bag ice and she hurried and alerted another staff/manager about the incident and brought over a first aid kit with a burn relief gel. That was just so kind and thoughtful. Because a bag of ice was already more than enough. On our way out, the 2 sweet hostesses also said bye and even told my son to feel better soon. I really had a great experience through the entire night. Everything was splendid and exceeded many expectations of a well put together establishment. As busy and many customers in the restaurant, there was still alot of parking and not overly crowded. The restaurant was very clean, and tastefully decorated. All the staff were friendly, attentive, well spoken and have so much compassion. I think KPot really did an awesome job selecting their staff to represent the restaurant. First impressions always set the tone for your entire meal. I cant complain about anything. Aside from my son placing his hands on the hot grill, it was an excellent night. The incident with my child was not the restaurants fault. I take full accountability on our end. I should have been more attentive and a bit more strict about the consequences of touching the grill. Hopefully it's a learning experience for this curious kid as well. And thankfully he was not injured and sustain any burns to his hands. Even if he did, it's still our fault. Parents, just make sure you keep close eyes on your kids to avoid this accident at all cost. I think the pricing and portions of the meals were not too expensive. For 2 adult kbbq and hot pot, 2 milk black boba teas, and 1 cranberry juice the bill was $92. I think it was at a fair price point. I believe this is a wonderful addition to Greensboro. And it is definitely another favorite spot. Thank you for such wonderful services and delicious food. I hope you guys stay busy and continue to provide stable income for your hard working staff members. Whoever in charge of hiring, was very selective on presentation and personality. It was immediately detected....
