I recently visited Mr. Tokyo, and while the food had some redeeming qualities, the overall experience was underwhelming.
Let’s start with the positives: the sushi was fantastic! The fresh fish was definitely the highlight of the meal. The tuna, salmon, octopus, and squid were all incredibly fresh and flavorful, and the finger appetizers were a great touch—crispy, well-seasoned, and perfect for snacking between sushi rolls. The quality of the fish showed that they prioritize freshness, which was a major plus.
Unfortunately, the experience was marred by a couple of significant issues. First, the cleanliness of the restaurant left much to be desired. There were visible crumbs on the floor, dirty tables, and the overall ambiance felt neglected. The place seemed like it hadn’t been properly cleaned in a while, which made it hard to fully enjoy the meal.
On top of that, the service was lacking. The staff seemed inattentive and disorganized. It took far too long to get our drinks, and even longer to receive our orders. We had to flag down the server multiple times just to get basic items like plates or extra napkins. It was clear that the service wasn’t a priority, which really detracted from the experience.
In the end, while the fresh fish sushi and tasty appetizers were definitely worth trying, the dirty environment and poor service made it hard to fully enjoy the meal. I’d hesitate to return unless there are improvements in both cleanliness...
Read moreAvoid this place at all costs. Like most things it started out great. After the fifth time here, we brought a guest and it was horrible. I asked for ice tea WITH ice. When no ice was in the glass, I asked for a GLASS of ice. What came out? A glass with three cubes of ice. No joke. We were seated at 730. At 735 I ordered Hibachi. At 8:10, no food. The server behind us kept asking the people in their booth, 'what did you order again'. Finally got my food after complaining. I asked for a manager. A young lady came out, and Instead of apologizing as the first thing she said, she made excuse after exuse while staring like a deer In the headlights out a window whose blinds were closed. When I made mention of no offering an apology, she just turned and walked away. Customer service? A manager? Hahaha Hardly. Absolute joke of a place. Avoid it! Definitely don't feel good giving them money for food they can't deliver to you in a reasonable time frame and are unapologetic about it. At 8:15 they asked me if I wanted more, and I said no, since you close at 10 I won't get it by then. Numerous times the so called waitress walked by our table and never picked up the cards that had been filled out. It was a lack of service and empathy that did them in with us. I did not feel good about giving them almost $100 and they weren't even remorseful about all...
Read moreAll you can eat Hibachi and Sushi for only $14.99 (lunch) yes please! The restaurant is lovely and Lara was fantastic. It was our first time and she explained how the menu was set up ( * means raw, red print means spicy, H means 1 cone shaped handheld, C means multiple pieces, qty as stated). Thankfully, this is not a buffet. You order at your table by filling out the choices sheet. Then your food is made and she brings it to you. NOTE: the food doesn’t follow traditional timing, meaning entrees may come out before apps. So, if that’s critical to you, fill out a sheet with only the foods you want first. Then turn in subsequent sheets. Timing wasn’t critical for us and we went straight to the sushi. Everything was so fresh and flavorful. See menu pic for descriptions but we started with 3 different hand rolls: Philadelphia, Spicy Salmon, Spicy Tuna then the standard Spicy California Classic, KFC Roll with mango, Angel Hair Roll and then the Crab Rangoon which was perfectly fried, creamy filled goodness. You get 2 pcs per order and it was so good, we ordered more. This is a fantastic price for excellent food and delightful table service!...
