My family has been coming to this Jason’s Deli for a while and we’ve always had great experiences. However today I witnessed one of the most gut-wrenching experiences when a person in need came in today to ask for assistance, or as some may refer to it "begging," and the staff overall treated them as if they were not a human. I understand from a business perspective this can be a frustrating thing to navigate more frequently than desired, and I know that engaging in the behavior it becomes more likely that someone will come back and sometimes this puts your staff and business at risk. However, in defense of the individual it should be recognized that to ask for help takes serious courage. You must take the risk that you could be faced with rejection, which then leads to uncertainty. What I find unacceptable within this whole interaction is that your staff looked at this individual who seemed in need blatantly ignore them and treated them as if they weren't there.. the man stood their desperate and faced with anxiety as almost every staff member looked at him and turned away avoiding all eye contact. For multiple minutes he stood there, and finally one young man stepped forward and addressed him, and heard him out and I watched that young man give him a $5 bill out of his own pocket. First, I just want to say thank you to the young man who was generous & compassionate despite everyone around you doing the opposite. That takes courage and I am thankful for you. Second, I want to say that I know that despite out best intentions we are not always in circumstances to help someone out. What is important to do in those times when you can't is to display empathy and kindness. Be honest. Treat them like they are a human being. Explain to them that you wish you could, but you cannot. Wish them to be well. Help is not only given monetarily.
I seriously hope you take the time to read this & implement it into your daily interactions with the community and Greenville. Also, let them know next time that Comal864 is willing to make a hot dish to a member of the...
Read moreJust know my food was not the best quality I ordered the manager special (1/2 sandwich and soup) call the manager Jillian back about it .. and he expressed his lack of concern about my food.. when I got back to the restaurant right before closing he stood in front of me with a smirk as if if was funny that that I had to return.. as im in there in my robe and sick .. he never apologized for the inconvenience the messed up sandwich or the missing chips , I had to demand he fix my food over .. cause he never offered and me asking nicely just seemed very amusing to him.. that he stood there smiling rolling his eyes as if I was annoying him ( teenager behavior) His lack of concern for my time and money I spend at this location was right out disappointing he had absolutely no care about what was wrong . he didn’t care about the customer or the quality of food this was not my first interaction with him I’m at this location about 1 a month I’m just over his lack of concern for my food and his lack of concern for the integrity of my food he know that tomato and lack of meat was sinister when the company sandwiches are built on the meaty ness and fresh vegetables. If Jason’s don’t want my business say that!! I want come .. Panera is across the street with broccoli cheddar soup and sandwiches
Update::11/20/24 Today I decided to try Jason again 7 months after my horrible experience and I must say the manager Eric and the customer service expert Ashley were absolutely great and on point Eric was serving dine in orders and as busy as he was he had a sec to stop for my question! And was very delightful.. Ashley gave me some of the best customer service in the most busy extreme time of day ! Lunch time . She was very patient ,efficient and hard working. The line was long but my wait time to order was not! The entire crew was phenomenal I didn’t have to wait long to receive my food and it was correct and hot with fresh vegetables! I’m happy my happy place is back happy for me! Can’t wait to...
Read moreI love Jason's Deli and frequented the one in College Park, MD, so I was delighted to learn there is a location down the street from my office in Greenville, SC. I was not excited for long because the first time I went in the line took 18 minutes to get through - there was one register open at 11:30am on a Friday- and by the time I got to the front of the line, they announced there were no more tables in the restaurant. Ok...no problem. I ordered my lunch to go. I got a sandwich and salad bar and I was specifically told by the cashier to return to the "pick up" area for my sandwich (after getting my salad at the bar) and they would call my name when the sandwich was ready. The salad bar was barely stocked and very messy but I was able to get what I wanted. Then I returned to the "pick up" area for my sandwich. I waited 10 minutes for my name to be called and finally asked a staff member what could be taking so long. The staff member walked over to a wall of delivery orders (bagged and waiting to be taken) and picked my sandwich out of the orders and gave it to me. I waited 10 minutes and my sandwich was already prepared and thrown into the deliver area even though when I got my bag, it had my name and "to go" written on the receipt. I was thoroughly disappointed at the entire experience and I am not sure I will go back. The food was good, albeit my sandwich was cold and my salad wilted when i got back to my office - but the staff and management does not seem to care about its customers.
Update: I spoke to the manager after leaving this review and he did "make it right." I will be giving this location another shot, and I hope the experience is better because I do enjoy...
