I quit another job because they needed experienced bartenders so badly & promised they would take care of me. I worked my butt off for 2-3 days getting the whole bar set up, helped the manager order things he was missing, took detailed notes, Etc. The night of the soft opening, everything changes. Their uniform shirts are in Asian sizes so my normal XL-2X in their shirts is like 4x-5x. The largest they had was a 4x and it was a bit tight. When I asked for larger, the manager laughed a bit and looked at my stomach and said, sorry... That's the largest we ordered..we weren't expecting someone to be larger than a 4x (XL-ish in USA sizes). Myself and 2 other bartenders worked the whole soft opening, making only about $50 each. Including hourly. The servers all made an average of about $275-$325. But, I had pride in starting up a new restaurants bar and was willing to stick it out for a bit. They promised they would be super busy for the first 3 months, and if we were still there after that 3 months - we would have raises. Monday night & Tuesday was a ghost town. It's not what they planned, at all. So, the manager realized they over hired DRASTICALLY, and decided to let several servers, hosts, and one bartender go. I was that bartender. There was only 3 (including me) that had any experience on the bar and about the same amount that had never been on the bar, and they were going to train. They chose to let me go instead of one of the other one of the ones without experience, but they were skinnier or what some would say prettier than me. So, despite the work I put in to open the bar and the experience I have - plus me leaving a job to help open this bar, I was let go. When I asked him why he said because he heard that I was trying some of the bar drinks. But, we spent hours on Friday trying the wines, with him, and were told we would also need to sample the drinks but ran out of time. So, another bartender decided she would make extra of the drinks she made so we could try them - we literally ALL tried them. Also, that whole night the owners, managers, etc were all coming behind the bar and taking beers for free, telling us make them drinks, etc. So, I truly did not do anything that wasn't what others were doing but not being punished. He then asked if they watched the cameras would they see it all, and I said yes! Please do, but then it hit me that he was firing me without even watching the cameras to see what was really going on. He didn't even investigate anything or anyone else.
Two days later I texted him (His name is Kernan, aka KB and he is the DM) to ask when I could get my check since our CC tips go on a check & we made almost no cash. He said that I could come get it the next day. I desperately needed that money so I would be able to get to interviews, and then to work it I got one of them. This check was what my life depending on until I had money coming in, so told him I would come get it at 11 because I needed it to go to my interviews, etc. The next morning at about 10:55am, I called him to tell him I was at the door to get my check. He then says "Oh um, yeah. I'm not going to have it today. Sorry." & Says it might be tomorrow, may be another day. He will let me know. So, I remind him that he told me to come today, I desperately need it, and spent money to get there to get it. He says "yeah. I said today. So I have until the end of the day. I'll do it when I have time." I told him that I would have to wait there for it because I couldn't even go anywhere without it. He said he didn't care what I did. 15 mins later I messaged him to tell him I would be letting the community know how this new restaurant treats people, and was on the phone with HR. 5 mins later I had a check for a portion of my money. Magically. But, Still just a portion. This man is discriminatory & thinks playing with people's lives is a game and funny. He made fun of me for needing that check, too! Do not support this place! There's plenty of other restaurants around the area! Shame on you, KB....
Read moreAbsolutely outstanding experience! This is hands down one of the best BBQ and hotpot buffet restaurants I’ve ever been to in the U.S.—and I’m so glad we found it here in South Carolina. From the moment we walked in, everything felt top-tier: the interior was elegant and stylish, with clean tables, well-designed lighting, and a cozy yet classy vibe. The wide selection of meats, seafood, and vegetables was incredibly fresh. You could literally taste the quality in every bite, whether it was the juicy marinated beef, the tender lamb, or the super fresh shrimp. The broth options were rich and flavorful, and everything was kept clean and well-stocked throughout the evening.
But what truly made this meal unforgettable was Kayla, our server. She was the absolute heart of our experience. From the start, she greeted us with the warmest, most genuine smile that instantly made us feel welcome. Her friendly and positive attitude lit up the whole table, and she went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. She kept checking in with us at just the right moments—never too much, never too little—and was incredibly attentive without ever being intrusive.
Kayla’s sense of humor also added so much to the atmosphere. She had us laughing throughout the meal, and her light-hearted, fun personality made the whole dining experience feel more like we were being hosted by a friend rather than served by staff. It’s rare to find someone who can balance professionalism with such a warm, joyful spirit. Her timing, her tone, and even her quick jokes were perfect. It’s no exaggeration to say that she elevated our entire evening by 10 degrees! Her presence alone would make us come back.
And yes—Kayla is not only kind, funny, and attentive, but she’s also truly beautiful inside and out. You can tell she cares about the guests and genuinely wants them to enjoy their time. That kind of sincerity can’t be faked, and it’s what makes this place stand out among countless other hotpot spots.
To top it all off, they surprised us with delicious boba milk tea at the end of the meal—free of charge—just as a thank-you for supporting them. That’s the kind of above-and-beyond service that leaves a lasting impression.
We’ll definitely be recommending this place to friends, and we can’t wait to come back again soon—hopefully with Kayla as our...
Read moreIt’s been about a week since me and my friend ate here and I’d like to give it an honest review! Me and my friend are frequent korean bbq eaters and these are my observations on the pros and cons of this restaurant.
Right away the atmosphere of the restaurant is great. The neon lighting and decor are all very sleek and modern, and the restaurant overall looks very nice. The service was also amazing. We had Kevin as our server (who recognized us from another restaurant we’re regulars at lol) and he was so great the entire meal. We were checked on by other staff as well and everyone was friendly. No complaints about the service at all.
The buffet bar had some highs and lows. Plenty of good side dishes, I was happy to see pickled radish as it’s my favorite. The cucumber kimchi was great but the regular kimchi was kind of meh tasting. The potstickers were good as well. The sauce bar impressed me, as it had a wide variety of sauces, some I don’t normally see. It actually had korean sauces like gochujang & ssamjang. Their house made sauce is also very good. I made a good mixture of sauces that was delicious. My one complaint about the buffet bar is that there is no individual salt & pepper shakers to bring back to your table. I had to get a bowl and fill it up with salt & pepper from the big shakers. Id like to have individual shakers at the table.
Now for the food, this is where I have the lowest score. We got a lot to try. The bulgogi was very good. The mini sausages lacked any flavor and I didn’t really enjoy them. We also got the garlic smoke pork belly and I didn’t enjoy this at all. The smoke flavor was so overwhelming it was almost inedible. The short rib, however, was delicious and I definitely recommend getting that. I wished the onions were cut better, as they were huge, thick pieces that didn’t grill well. The pineapple was just pineapple out of a can, so I wouldn’t get that again.
We also got a couple of milk teas, which were NOT good and I do not recommend. They were watery and had no flavor and sort of tasted like they were made from a chalky powder. Definitely skip those.
All in all, this place is pretty good. I would come back and try different items, as we didn’t get to try the steak and was told it was good. Service was great & atmosphere was also great. (Please play more kpop though, it’s a korean...
