-- Well, the first time we came to Moe’s BBQ was a few Saturday’s ago as my wife and I wanted to go to restaurants with outside seating. --- The BBQ sandwich and the side items we ordered were good. ---- The people were friendly and the service was prompt. --- There was even an employee who asked us it everything was ok with our meal.
So we decided to drive from Simpsonville again to eat at Moe’s a second time this past Saturday, only to be disappointed.
#1 -- Unlike our first visit, this time the BBQ sandwichs were not clean sandwiches. We had to pull out and spit out chunks of fat, skin, etc, (trash) that should have not been chopped up into the meat.
#2 -- We sat outside for 20-25 minutes waiting on our food. I finally asked the lady who came out to clean some tables to check on our order since it was taking so long. -- A few moments later, the server brought our food to us, only for everything to be COLD including the Pork Chili that the cashier said was very good when I inquired about it. -- It seems that our food was prepared but was just sitting back there getting cold with no one bringing our order out to us. -- No one came and asked if everything was ok with our meal.
Needless to say, the BBQ sandwiches with trash in them, the cold food and our order apparently having been forgotten about, made this second visit to Moe’s very disappointing - unlike our first visit a few weeks ago when everything was...
Read moreIf you want THE BEST smoked wings, pulled pork, smoked turkey and ribs in town, RUN to Moe’s. (That’s Moe’s BBQ y’all). And you KNOW you’re at a legit bbq restaurant when their sides can be your main meal. Let’s start with the baked beans. They have some chili’s and probably a bit of sugar. It’s my go to, and second is the homemade slaw. I’m incredible! And don’t forget the cornbread. If it’s not included with your meal, ORDER A PIECE. It’s “slap yo mama good”. Seriously, try the 4 sides for your meal. And let me brag in the Collard Greens. Just the right hint of vinegar and so delicious. And if you catch them on the right day, you may find the gold at the end of the rainbow….boudin balls. This unique and special treat is pork, sausage and rice that is battered and fried for the most amazing ball your eat. Dip your balls in some Alabama white sauce and your eyes may roll back in your head. And this place brings even more to the table by having Liability Brewery next door. You can bring their beer to Moe’s or take Moe’s food to Liability. It’s a pairing for the ages. Once you eat there, I dare you not to comment and right a rave review. Plus, their atmosphere is laid back, tunes are set to mellow rock and there is also a 10’-12’ diameter firepit outside that is gas and always burning. So grab your kids, grab your wife, and get on down to Moe’s. You can...
Read moreI’ve wanted to stop here for years , but being a loyal customer to another bbq nor far from this never did til Thursday a week ago. To be welcomed and greeted upon entry is very important to me and JC made me feel right at home, explaining the menu and also answering all my initial questions. The laidback style and the music was only the beginning of the most enjoyable lunch I’ve had in recent memory. I sat outside under the radiant heat and facing the beautiful fire pit, with 2 big screens and the great music ! Food promptly arrived piping hot. I ordered the wings, along with fries okra and squash casserole, cornbread was a bonus! The food was absolutely OFF THE CHAIN! Sides weee from scratch and I was told by Kenny they change them up thruout the week. I can’t tell you folks how at home everyone made me feel , even pulling up a chair and sharing other menu items for a later visit. From JC to Kenny to Chip to Scott and I’m sure I’m leaving a few out, it was the greatest experience in years! It reminded of my small bbq restaurant years ago in a small Georgia county! If you’ve not tried them please do , biggest bang for your hard earned dollar! And all fresh! They even brought me a rib to try and it was...
