So I received a appetizer that looked like scraps. I asked the employee to change my order, and I was told that I had to pay for something that I didn’t even touch and pay for my new order. After it was established that I wasn’t eating or paying for the unwanted appetizer, the employee went to talk about the situation to other coworkers, which all gave a look to my table. When I received my bill the employee kept the untouched appetizer on the tab. I said I wasn’t paying for the appetizer but I’ll pay for anything I ate. Minutes went by and the employee came back with a new bill without the appetizer on it and I was told that I was no longer welcomed. P.s. that was from the manager, but instead of telling me herself she let the employee say it. Further on I saw the manager and tried explain what happened. I was told that once something is ordered you must automatically pay for it. I then mentioned that that’s nowhere on the menu. She said there is a sign up front stating that once food is ordered you must pay for it. I went to look at the sign and it was little less than a half of sheet of paper stuck on the wall above my eye level. She then mentions “your lucky I didn’t call the cops” and might I add the appetizer was only $7.50. You mean to tell me that your willing to call the cops for less than $8, even after I asked to just change my order that I would gladly pay for. The manager was rude the entire time and obviously doesn’t know what customer service is. I don’t recommend this place to anyone, especially if your like me and would like your money’s worth...
Read moreMy family loves Sappari Japanese Restaurant. I haven't been for almost a year, but we went again this week with my daughter and two of her friends!! It's always such an inviting foodie adventure. The chef/ server performs with rhythmic chopping knives and chiming spatulas as he or she artfully prepares your meals right before your eyes! At times, the fire from the grill seems like it reaches nearly 3 feet in the air! There is a delicious variety of meat and veggie combinations to choose from. It's definately delightful and delicious fare: soup is plentiful and outstanding, salad is generous (I had ginger dressing which was very fresh, my entree, Hibachi chicken and veggies, was also outstanding! My husband said his steak was the best flavor he'd had in a long time. The hostess and server we're very friendly and professional. The over all experience was very pleasant. We arrived around 5:30 and had a short wait for the doors to open. This is a place we've frequented as a family for many years and for many special events : birthdays, athletic tournament celebrations, fun with friends, and during the holidays when a night out is welcomed. I would like to add a constructive suggestion - an interior design update in the lobby would be great. I think this would please veteran and newbie foodies alike. They have a beautiful ceramic fish bowl I'm sure is really fun when it's up running, too! If you're visiting Greenville or the surrounding area, you should definately consider Sappari Japanese Restaurant for an entertaining and...
Read moreSappari has added a new restriction on their door that states there is no sharing. This policy is not on their menu nor is it online so it surprised some customers who where seated at my same table. This party of 5 had two individuals asked how to get smaller portions due to weight loss surgery as they have been given this accommodation at this restaurant before. The waitress would not make any accommodation this time stating the new handwritten rule on the door. They tried to order appetizers and this was not allowed. The waitress stated another rule that is not written anyplace that you cannot have an appetizer, unless you order a main course. When leaving Melody asked me how things were. I told Melody I was very bothered by some of there rules. I am very sensitive to peoples budgets, medical needs and wishes. She said if they had there medical card they could have orders off the children’s menus. I said they is something that should have been shared but that I still is unacceptable. I explained that this limits the menu choices for people with gastric bypass, instead of offering a half size portion from an adult menu. My 75 dollars spent on two dinners will be my last. I will not return to a place of business that does not care about the needs of its customers or appreciates the business of...
