Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Greenwood

We hadn't been to an Applebee's in well over a year, because the food is always just mediocre and the service usually is horrible. With no more late night dining options in our town we recently had to resort to revisiting our local Applebee's. The menu was pretty good, with lots of options of the usual kind (burgers, chicken, pasta, salads). We ordered the pretzel sticks with cheese dipping sauce (a bit over done but generous with the 2 dipping sauces so that was a plus!) and as and entree I ordered the Loaded Steak Fajita. The steak was a tad tough and would benefit from being cut thinner, lots of veggies but way too many onions. Overall it was decent. My husband got the Whiskey Bacon Burger and said it was quite tasty, with a nice size side of fries (though they could use a bit of seasoning to make them more interesting). For dessert we tried the amazing Apple Fritter, which was the star of the meal in my opinion! Definitely leave room for it! The highlight of the visit though was our waitress Amanda. Friendly, fast, there when we needed her but not hovering, quick with the refills. We chatted with the manager after our meal and told him to hold on to her! Wow, I have eaten at this place many time. Never have I had a experience like this. Ordered the full slab of ribs with honey barbecue sauce. Got my ribs and they were spicy and gritty. Seems I got the wrong sauce and they may have over dry rubbed them a bit. Sent them back, thinking they would bring me out a new slab and we could finish dinner. NO harm No foul, its a mistake. Instead the waitress comes back and plunks them down in front of me and say" The kitchen says they are ok " Like really, did they taste my ribs? Or did they just not want to replace them. So a manager comes out( if that is what he was) hem-haws around about not knowing what to do. Said" might be spicy due to much rub" NO S@@T, I told you they were gritty and spicy. Is that hard to figure out what to do ? Finally I told him to just take them off the bill as I was not going to eat them. He was clueless as what to do. My fiancé and I came with my grandma to eat for the half price appetizer's, and as we are finishing up our server told us we can use the ziosk/table top my grandma politely told our server Emily H we do not use the table tops. Emily then told us she would use the table top for us to pay. My grandma then told her we do not use the table tops since we have had issues with our family’s money getting stolen from them. She then walked away and came back with our checks. When she came back with the checks her attitude and demeanor changed from friendly and kind to being upset and having a bad attitude. We were very polite and overall enjoyed the food however the server could have been more kind after we told her we do not use table tops. It was disrespectful and we were very displeased...
