TLDR: I truly do not understand all of the 5star ratings because this place kinda sucks. All of the low ratings match ours. Just go somewhere else. Bad food and subpar service.
My husband and I went here for breakfast. When we walked in we were seated almost immediately but then once seated we waited forever for anyone to come by and take our order. Once we finally ordered, It took forever to receive our food. The food was bland and wasn’t what we ordered. I ordered a scramble and got an omelet with nothing inside of the thing. My husband likes bacon so he ordered extra bacon. The bacon they served him was overly cooked and burnt as well as my sourdough toast. I never got the extra sausage I ordered. Either. Tried to grab the attention of our server but she was nowhere in sight. We waited for about 5minutes at our table hoping to see her. Got the attention of the busser who said he’d grab her for us. Sat there for several more minutes and she never came. It was that moment we just said screw this, got up and went to and leave. When I went to pay for the food that we did actually eat, (shared hashbrowns and our coffees) and get refunded for the incorrect food, I told the lady helping us pay that the bacon was burned and that the food was bland. She retorted with “well did you tell anybody.” I said “No because I couldn’t find my server so I’m telling you.” She audibly sighed and stared at me for a moment awkwardly and tossed the receipt at me to sign and then just walked away. I probably shouldn’t have paid the entire bill but after all that, I couldn’t get out of there quick enough. Definitely didn’t leave any tip though. I’m never going back and won’t be...
Read moreI've been going to McCrae's since it opened back in the 90's. It is still to this day the hands down most genuine, delicious, wholesome, and welcoming cafe I have ever been to.
This restaurant is family owned and operated, the owner is one of the cooks. His wife manages and serves and their daughter serves. They have amazingly familiar and friendly staff, excellent, low wait times and the food... Well I'll get to that in a minute...
With prices of everything sky rocketing these days, McCrae's still has managed to maintain an incredible value and the portion sizes are ridiculous. By that, I mean that as country chicken fried steak is BIGGER THAN THE PLATE! Half plates are daunting and only the most brave will attempt to decor a whole omelette in one sitting. The bread for French Toast is THICK and HUGE.
About the food itself... Everything is real. Not frozen then cooked or any of that B.S. As far as I know most everything is made from scratch in house. Including the bread for that monstrous French toast. The food is wholesome, rich and filling. Your stomach will not know what to do with such genuine good food.
From Monstrous sized omelettes to carnivore juicy burgers, McCrae's has it covered A-Z. Delicious Food, Amazing Portion sizes, extraordinary friendly and inviting atmosphere, great value and prices, and most importantly, everything is done with the love of a family and they pass it on to you.
It is a near twenty year family tradition to go to McCrae's when we all get together. You should bring your family to. You will not be disappointed. I don't think disappointment is possible...
Read moreOverall somewhat average/slightly under seasoned food, kind and quick service. Went in on a Sunday morning and while it was busy, we were seated quickly. Seating is a bit crowded but it works. I had an Arnold Palmer but the lemonade in it was pretty plain tasting, it came in a cool mason jar cup. The fries that came with my burger were steak fries and were cooked well but under seasoned and there was no seasonings on the table. The waiter who took our order was very rushed but kind. He did miss almost all of our order notes and charged extra for Mayo and ranch on the side… the burger was good, bun toasted and lettuce tasted washed. The patty was also under seasoned but cooked well, not dry. My partner got a chicken burger blt and said it was a 8/10. The soup of the day was split pea and it was ok, also under seasoned. I saw another review that recommended strawberry shortcake. They use a biscuit dough base and the preserved strawberries. It wasn’t my favorite but they said they use fresh strawberries in season so I’ll have to try that then. I do want to mention the waitress, I think she said her name was Trenda? Or Brenda? She was in a rush and I didn’t want her to have to repeat herself. She was so kind and attentive, even with the rush. Another table asked for a picture and she took the time to take multiple, ask the kiddos name to get his attention and make sure the family liked it...
