This place has amazing food. Want to go again tomorrow and try a different dish! Our experience: We were seated quickly and provided with water and menus by the hostess. Then we looked over the menu, picked our meals and then waited. And waited. Wasn't like they were ignoring us, but we watched our waiter pass by a few times before he caught on the we were ready to order. Not sure if he was body or didn't know we were in his section. Once we orded, the drinks came quickly and the food was timely. Apps came first with an appropriate amount of time before dinner came. The food was phenomenal. I ordered the Hokkaido Ramen and it was so delicious. Savory, umami, flavorful. My only complaint was how the green onion was cut in slivers on top, it kept getting caught up in the noodles and wasn't the same texture so kinda made me gag. Got over it quickly though. I want to go again right away and bring my next guest there too. Options are plentiful and prices are very reasonable.

Edit: Went back a month later since I wanted something quick to eat at work. I ordered a $10 wonton soup and it came in a pint container. How is 2 pieces of overcooked wontons and a leaf of bok choy worth $10?? I'm officially done giving my money to this business until there is some change. Me and my boyfriend have been to Samurai a few times over the last 2 years. I’m not sure if they’ve changed cooks or something but the quality of food has definitely deteriorated. We ordered the samurai baos, tonkotsu ramen, and spicy garlic ramen. The samurai bao was ok, nothing special. I had the tonkotsu ramen and was extremely disappointed. They changed eggs from the soft boiled soy sauce eggs to a “soft” poached egg. I got a hard boiled poached egg. I informed the waitress and she brought back another poached egg but it was also hard when I cut it open. And it was cold. So they probably made a large batch that were all hard eggs. The chashu was also extremely lacking. The pork seemed to be boiled or slow cooked for 24 hours because it fell apart, and not in the good way. The pork skin appeared grey and didn’t taste good. The spicy garlic ramen was ok but they seemed to have change the noodles in it. The chashu was fine for that ramen bowl. Overall, I don’t think I’ll be returning anytime soon. I wish they didn’t change their original recipes because they were so much better than what we experienced today. The service was very nice though so I don’t blame them for the poor cooking.

I went with my girlfriend, the food she got was good (bulgogi rice bowl), but what I got was very underwhelming (stir fry garlic chicken noodle). Mediocre food and slow service means 3 stars from me. Appetizer: The Gyoza were nice and crispy. But theywere small, and the filling was not very flavorful. Drinks showed up quickly, and were average Food took 45 minutes to show up. The bulgogi was good, but the rice that came with it was a little mushy. The fried garlic noodles were very lightly sauceed and it had only 4 piece s of meat that were a little bigger than a quarter with it. So it was just a large bowl of noodles that were pretty bland. The sushi roll was called salmon lovers, but it wasn't anything like salmon sashimi, it was like a to you'd get an all you can eat place. The waitress was doing an alright job, she seemed new, but the kitchen took forever for everyone's food while we were there.

This review is for the BBQ-Grill portion of the house... Nice location in the heart of Mystic, nice room, will have lots of tourist traffic. Good addition to complement the restaurant line up for the area. Our fried calamari was spreaded over a bed of french fries, full of french fries. It had little flavor, did help fill our stomach since the entree, the Deluxe BBQ, was so paltry. The meat, sirloin and belly fat pork, was sliced so thin, did not provide any texture or taste. No side dish to accompany the protein, just a small bunch of kimchi. We found that the BBQ part did not live up to our expectation. Service was decent. The wine and beer list is adequate. Food was not up to par, average at best. We will not come back for its BBQ.

Settle in for vibrant flavors, comforting favorites, and delicious surprises. The new items are superb. I highly recommend the Miso Salmon was perfectly seasoned and moist nestled atop perfectly-cooked, fanned-out vegetables and delectable brown and white Miso rice for a home run meal. The sauce that comes with the scallion pancakes is a very chunky sweet curry and the combo is purely comforting and delicious. I could eat it every week… forever. All the sushi is delicious and made with great skill, no soy needed. The Black garlic tomaksu ramen has deeply delicious flavor. Did I enjoy everything?Yes, and the service was superb.
