My friend and I went for lunch. The photos looked good. So that's why we went! Service wasn't great. After not being able to describe what's in the Nopal Special Soup. Told her we needed time to order. We had to flag her down after 10 minutes. It's a very small restaurant - I could hear the whole conversation behind me. Group behind me were older gals talking about their doctors appointment and surgery. That's something I don't want to listen to when I'm eating. Could have had music playing in the background. The food was below average.. Talk about no flavor, rich neighborhood- high prices- small portions. They deliver salsa to your table (green salsa verde and orange one). No chips, need to request chips and salsa - which are complimentary, which says in the menu (so why don't they bring out in the beginning). If I want more, it's an extra $2. I ordered tostadas. Usually, it comes on a corn chip. The chip tasted dry, and the portion was small. My friend got the mole chicken enchiladas. She didn't like it. 2 enchiladas Usually it's 3 at other places. Never again. The hostest was friendly and upbeat. Too bad she...
Read moreI couldn’t decide between a 2 or 3 in reviews. We drove a whole hour to this place because of the reviews. We walked in and the two young girls don’t know proper Spanish, should of been my first clue to leave. The food took forever. Being Mexican, I am a bit more critical of Mexican restaurants. I felt like because the young girl serving us assumed I didn’t know English and her Spanish wasn’t very good, she didn’t really check in with us. It wasn’t until the end when I started speaking English that I noticed a difference in service. My husband order the birria tacos and he said it lacked taste and the cosme had a lot to desire. The guacamole tasted fresh. The sopes and the huarache, they lacked cheese and sour cream. I would of loved to ask for more but again, our waiter was not attentive. The beans did not have a good taste. The nopalito salad did taste fresh and delicious. We did want to try more things on the menu but got tired of waiting so we asked for our...

This place is AMAZING. Two colleagues recommended I go. I love by some amazing Mexican restaurants, so I was wondering if this would be worth the trek. Absolutely!!!
First of all, they brought chips with cheese, beans, and two spicy salsas that were incredible. I cannot explain how fresh everything tasted. I ordered extra chips and pico, my favorite food on the face of the planet, and it did not disappoint. This is my death row meal salsa.
For my entrée, I ordered the Huarache El Nopalito. Very flavorful! And for the price, I couldn't believe the size. My husband enjoyed the Sopecitos de Cochinita Pibil, and my six-year-old devoured his entire shrimp quesedilla, which was absolutely loaded with shrimp.
I would've loved to try their rice pudding, but we were stuffed! The service was fantastic, the ambiance was nice, and the cherry on top was that it was the most affordable night out I've had in years. I cannot...
