The worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. I’ve only been here in 3 occasions within this month and all times my food was cold because of the waiting line. Even after that, they still made me park on the side to wait for my food because it “wasn’t ready.” Then I would receive it cold after 5 mins of having to wait extra. Just two days ago, I ordered the usual and I told the guy twice the order isn’t spicy, it’s just a 4C. I corrected him for the third time when I was paying again and the order still came out spicy. Only reason I didn’t ask for it to be exchanged because I waited there 15 mins and had to run to work. Today, again I was asked to wait on the side after I waited 15+ mins because the car in front of me had issues with his order. Not even a surprise. I pull up and again they ask me to pull over. I instead asked for a refund because at this point, there shouldn’t be errors or having to wait 20mins in total for a fast food place just to find out my food is cold. One older lady whose name I didn’t get, tells me to pull to the side for my refund. I told her no, I shouldn’t be coming here every time just to wait a long period of time especially in the 3 times I’ve ordered. The manager, who she claims that she is called Sofia tells me it’s my right order with an attitude. Just shows how there’s not even communication. I tell her that I asked for a refund and the reasons why. Continues to argue with me and leaves then the other lady comes back with my order after I watched her grab the bag that was just sitting there and hands it to me after I told her I wanted a refund. I was not going to have cold food again. She says I’ll be back with the refund. Sofia comes back with her attitude telling me to park on the side, I told her no and I don’t care that I had an attitude then because clearly you can’t manage being a manager. She then tells me that she’s going to get my refund and to move to the side. How is it that one person is getting my refund and the other is telling me she is going to get it? She continued arguing with me for the 10+ mins telling me I was holding up the line. I told her, the time you would have gotten my refund instead of arguing back is the time you would have saved serving others and not losing customers. I asked her for her managers name, she said it wasn’t my business. The lady then comes back with my refund and Sofia was speaking badly about me in Spanish thinking I can’t speak it. I made it well known I can understand what she is saying and to give me my refund already. Again Sofia took the time to speak badly when she could have just grabbed to refund from the other lady and given it to me. Then she yells after I drive away, “get God”. Read moreI've never felt pulled to leave a review for a McDonald's, other than maybe some bad locations, but this one is honestly a stand-out. My husband and I live here and occasionally go here as our cheat day. I have to say, every single time we're pleasantly surprised that this location is better than any we've ever been to. Food is always hot and fresh (I mean relatively speaking, obviously we're still talking about McDonald's) but it's just always good. Service is very friendly and I'd even say professional. There's one employee who's always a standout; for lack of a name he's a young white gentlemen in his 20s (slight country accent?) and just seems to love his job, always has a great attitude. He deserves a raise, he always adds a positive vibe. Also, Hamden is known for its homeless population and the other day we witnessed an employee offering an elderly gentlemen a cup of water on a hot day. The Play Place hasn't been open here for a while, but there's currently construction going on with it so we're hoping soon. Read moreI came for a pickup order that was placed at 10 am. Many places don't advertise that if you order drive-thru pick up, they only make the food upon arrival. I ordered in store pick-up so I wouldn't be waiting (per usual) for my 'fast food'. I arrived at 10:20 and waited 5 minutes to be told my order was canceled because breakfast was over. My order was in well before then, and it should have been waiting there already. I asked to speak with the manager to understand what went wrong, and she kept explaining that's what happens when you put in a drive-thru order and dont come before breakfast switches to lunch. I completely understand this, which is why I conscientiously placed a pick-up order. I asked her to show me where it says I placed a drive-thru order. She repeatedly pointed at the receipt that did not say drive-thru anywhere, continuing to try and create an explanation for her lack of an excuse.
