I was beyond excited about this restaurant, as the food was delicious the previous time I ordered. I placed an order through grubhub today, only for the order to be incomplete when it arrived & also the biscuit option to be changed. I was not notified they were out of sweet potato biscuits, before my order was delivered. Normally the restaurant calls & asks if the change is acceptable. I called to politely ask if my driver was at fault, or if the restaurant forgot part of my order. I was given a snarky reply & definitely not treated as a valued customer. I have never gone out of my way to leave a negative review, but I cannot believe that I was spoken to, as if I inconvenience to this location. I was unaware if it is after 11:30 they will change the biscuit option. I now have to wait 7 days for a refund from grubhub. I also got an oatmeal cookie that was stale. That can be reheated & made soft, but the rude conversation was enough to make me never return. I’m sure I’m just another patron that they will forget about, but this was not a pleasant interaction in...
Read moreMOMO's Cafe is a good little spot for some scratch made food located inside the Liz Moore building. She's currently running a $10 Summer Buffet deal that is a spectacular value. The fee provides you with mixed green salad, pasta salad, fresh cut watermelon, potato salad (not the traditional mayonnaise based, but a much taster garlic, olive oil, and roast pepper version), sweet corn on the cob, fried chicken (legs & wings), pulled chicken bbq, coleslaw, buns, and a type of lemon scone pastry. The best part was the ice cream dessert at the end. House made vanilla ice cream with a decadent fudge walnut pudding, and a sugar cookie type crust served in a dainty tea cup. Buffet included pink lemonade at no additional cost. Other sodas available for purchase, including what appeared to be fresh made Italian cream soda. Decor is very eclectic with varying types of chairs and tables. Each table had unique salt and pepper shakers. It was pretty busy the day I went thanks to an article in the Daily Press. Great place to take your Mom...
Read moreMaybe we went on bad day, but the food was really sub par for the price. The "sides" are only 3oz in a 4oz cup. It took 15 minutes for sandwiches with microwaved bacon. The Monte Cristo wasn't even a true Monte Cristo, it was just 2 pieces of French toast with cold turkey and questionable ham in between, I ended up asking for refund because it was unpalatable, and I gave it fighting chance with 3 bites and trying to drown it in syrup. The lady ringing us up was friendly, but apparently forgot to charge us for the drinks, which we're pretty sure she had but we paid it anyway cause it wasn't worth an argument (we didn't get a receipt, so maybe she did forget). The staff were overall friendly, but I can see why it was empty. They're definitely using cheap ingredients to match the cheap decor. I feel bad for complaining because the cook did a good job with what he had, but he didn't have the right food to make it taste good. For $70, I definitely won't...
