I went to purchase some items today. One of the items appeared to have rung up incorrectly. I explained to the young lady that was at the self check out the item price is not ringing up as the display price. I needed to go back and get another item and offered to take a picture so that she wouldn’t have to leave her post to do a price check. During the exchange, the security guard Rachel came close to the associate as if I was being hostile. I didn’t want this to be a made for social media moment, so I continued to be courteous and ignore the situation. When I came back with my item and the picture of the price, she responded very annoyed “I can’t take a picture and my manager went to do the price check.” Unbeknown to me, she was being very snarky and made comments while I was gone. Hence the build up of her poor attitude in my absence. Also these remarks were loud enough for everyone in the immediate vicinity to hear including my daughter and niece. Once the supervisor came back she explained why the item was full priced and not the sale’s price as displayed. I thanked her for her diligence and continued to ring up my items. All while I’m ringing, the security guard Rachel came back with another security guard. This further intimidated and embarrassed me as well as heightening the situation. The whole thing was very unsettling and made me upset. This is how you treat your consumers? Clearly racial sensitivity training was not performed at this store! Upon exiting the store, my daughter was very upset by the young woman’s comment and told me. Her admission was further confirmation of my suspicion surrounding the situation. I went back in the store and requested to speak to a manager. The same manager/supervisor came back. I explained to her the situation and how it was very unwarranted especially in today’s climate. I told her I didn’t disrespect the young lady and the manager confirmed that I was not being rude and offered me a $5 gift card for my experience. There’s no dollar amount that can erased my horrible experience with this store. I will also be contacting headquarters to ensure that someone else is not met with this same experience. That young lady was rude, unprofessional, and unfortunately black. Her behavior is evidence that we have further work to do within our community...
Read moreI did not have a great return experience. I frequently shop with Target and this was the first time I've had an issue. I presented my return with the original receipt and very well within 30 days. The clothing items I purchased were too small and I wanted to exchange them for a larger size. For starters, there was only one person behind the counter and she was handling both in store pick-ups and customer returns. Finally after waiting in line for quite some time as she was gone to retrieve an item for the customer in front of me, a gentleman comes and starts my return. I explained to him that I did not want a return but only wanted to change the too small items for the correct items I had in my hand. He told me the only option he could do was return them to my original form of payment and then I would have to leave the customer service desk to go to a regular register to purchase the items I wanted. I told him that had never been the case and he just said that was his only option. So then I asked if I would be able to get the new items at the same price I orginally purchased and he said I would have to pay whatever the register showed. So I clarified that not only would he not do the exchange, but I would also have to pay full price for something I purchased on sale with my original receipt. I asked him if that was a new policy and he shrugged his shoulders and said he had just started. So he completed the return and I went straight to a manager that was at the self checkout registers. After looking at my receipt, he did say that my new items could be purchased for the sale price that was shown on my receipt and he directed me to a cashier that was able to take me immediately so I didn't have to stand in another line. Fortunately the end result worked out in that I was able to get the correct sizes at the same price, but my customer service experience was...
Read moreI didn't notice much about stock or neatness of the place. I had just driven eight hours in a car and needed to pick up some little things I had forgotten at home. Target and brand has always been a beloved place of me and the family so why not shop at a place I'm familiar with. As me and my family walk to the self-checkout I notice a young lady standing at the entrance way, we exchange greetings. Three seconds later as my daughter is taking our things out the cart, I realize I don't have space to take a step back and check under the cart to see if my travel size items had fallen through or not. The young greeter was standing right behind me. So close I could feel her heat. I asked if everything ok? Did I do something wrong? She replies no, just doing my job, so I continue with my purchase. As I'm paying she asked if I forgot to pay for my sons hat. With this look on her face like she had just discovered America, almost cocky. I replied no, we came in with this.
I felt racially profiled!! As a traveler new to this area I should have been treated better. My children should not have been subject to seeing such inhuman treatment, they don't understand "adult" stuff. I'm very disappointed in the actions of this young woman. I make more than enough to pay for my belongings but ultimately it's the store who is at fault for undereducating this lady of her duties and how to go about them in a tactful manner. Needless to say, we will not return to the store location. I found one closer to the beach where we were staying. I hope this store gets it's act together, it's the consumers who...
