I have been going to chicken salad chick regularly since they opened in Hampton va. I was really excited when this location opened a little over a year ago because I’ve always loved chicken salad chick but there was never one close by us until now. We went there when they first opened and they were very professional and the food was really good. Their service was the same level as Chick-fil-A. (Top notch) however a little over a year later this place has really gone downhill. A couple of weeks ago I was there and the employees were arguing over when they were going to take a break in front of a line of customers. I thought it was unprofessional but no biggie. I’ll still come back. Today I had my two infants in the car with me and after a long day I ordered curbside pick up (so I thought). I pulled in the curb side parking spot and called for my order. I told them I was there and where I was parked. I gave them my name for the order that I had already paid for online. The girl on the phone informed me that I had not ordered curbside pick up but just regular pick up therefore I would have to come inside to get my order. I explained to her that I had two infants in my car so I wasn’t able to come inside and asked if they could please bring me my order. She again said I had to come inside. I told her to please cancel my order since I’m not able to come inside. She replied the order is already made so it couldn’t be canceled then said that she would ask if someone could bring it to me and put me on hold. Next the manager answered the phone and we went through the same process again and I gave my name for the order. The manager who was working around 4 PM on Saturday May 13th at the Hampton Va location told me that since I did not click on the curbside pick up when I placed my order I would have to come inside. I then told her I couldn’t come inside because I could not leave my two infants unattended in a hot car so please just cancel my order. She then said no problem she would cancel it. however the charges still came out of my account and it was not refunded. I had to file a dispute with my bank in order to get my money back. It is so unfortunate that I had to go through all of that just because someone couldn’t walk me my food that I had paid for. It is so unfortunate that they treat paying customers this way and not only that but are taking advantage of them by not refunding them their money for something they never received because someone couldn’t take an extra 30 seconds to walk a scoop of chicken salad and a side of grapes to a car parked in their curbside pickup parking spot even after explaining why I couldn’t come inside. Their lack of courtesy towards paying customers and to mothers is shocking to me. I will not be coming back to this location again and since this is the only one near me I probably will not be going back at all. They put zero effort into satisfying their customers. I’ll stick with...
Read moreFirst time here, felt compelled to write a review. The concept behind the restaurant is interesting. They serve different versions of chicken salad and some other items. I don't eat bread, so I ordered two scoops of chicken salad. I did the original and also the one where they put grapes and pecans in it, and also ordered a side of Mac and cheese. So let's get the side out of the way. It's not good, and I won't order that again. It's bland. Now for the chicken salad. It's not bad, honestly. If I came back, I would get the one with the grapes and pecans because I like the sweetness of the grapes and the texture the pecans provide with the chicken. The original one was ok, but too fatty and not much else. Very heavy handed with the mayo. Lots of crackers for the two scoops and a cookie that looks good, haven't eaten it yet. For all of this plus a drink it came to about $15 after taxes. I'm actually pretty full even though I only ate about two bites of the mac and cheese.
Service: Friendly for the most part although I did catch the girl rolling her eyes at one of my questions that I asked regarding the food. I didn't say anything this time, but please train your staff to be more patient with those who have never ordered here before. I promise some people wouldn't even bother coming back after that. Maybe she thought I wouldn't catch it, but I did, and if she doesn't have the patience to answer questions, maybe she should be in the back of the house away from customers.
Bottom line: price not bad in comparison to what is around this area. $15 is about what you may spend for lunch in this area outside of McDonald's, wendys, etc. Food for the most part tasted good, curious to try other options. If you are serious about your Mac and cheese, skip this. It's bland and not worth the calories. I'll be back to try other chicken salad options and their...
Read moreThis is a really amazing location and I absolutely love Chicken Salad Chick. I particularly wanted to leave a review for the family meal that they offer. It is the most economical tastiest satisfying meal I could purchase for my family of five. I a a married mother of three boys two of which are picky eaters so I was hesitant to purchase but became the cost made since I did. It was the best decision I could have made! My kids and husband loved the food, it was enough for leftovers and I didn’t feel bad for grabbing a quick meal after a long day of work. And the bread OMG! I do not normally eat bread with my chicken salad let alone white bread however, I got it for the rest of my family thinking the wheat berry option would be a bit much. When I tell you that this bread is surely mixed with the bread of heaven, I am not lying!? This is the only explanation I can give to explain how absolutely delicious it was!! So, If you like chicken salad and great tasting food, this is the place for you!! Try it...
