The Worst On The Border in the Entire Country – Allentown, PA Should Be Shut Down I’ve been to all 48 states, and without hesitation, this is the absolute worst On The Border location I’ve ever experienced—and quite possibly the worst restaurant I’ve ever set foot in. Located in Allentown, Pennsylvania, this place is a disaster waiting to happen. If corporate doesn’t step in immediately to either shut it down or enforce serious corrective action, someone is going to end up in the hospital—or worse. Let’s talk about the food: • The shrimp was spoiled and slimy—reeked of rot the moment it hit the table. • The steak was sour, chewy, and clearly expired—no seasoning could mask that foul taste. • The pork? Inedible. Fully rancid and clearly not safe for consumption. This wasn’t just disappointing—it was dangerous. This food was not mishandled by mistake; it felt like the result of total negligence. There is zero chance the kitchen passed a proper inspection. Whoever is managing food quality at this location has no business working in the restaurant industry. The dining room was nearly empty on a Thursday night—now I know why. The locals have clearly caught on. It’s only a matter of time before someone gets seriously ill. And when that happens, it won’t just be a tragedy—it’ll be a massive lawsuit. Someone will get rich, and someone else will have to answer for this gross negligence. Shame on the franchise owner for letting this happen. Shame on the restaurant manager for failing to act. And shame on the kitchen staff for serving food that should’ve been thrown away days ago. If you care about your health, stay far away from this location. Corporate: do something now. This place is an embarrassment to your brand and a threat to public safety.

I had such a great experience at this restaurant! The food was absolutely delicious, full of flavor and clearly made with care. The prices were very reasonable for the quality and portion sizes. What made it even better was the service—our waitress, Tony, was incredibly sweet and friendly. She helped us choose our dishes with a big smile and made sure we had everything we needed. I’ll definitely be coming back again, and I highly recommend this place to anyone! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This was my second time visiting On The Border, and once again, I had a great experience! The place wasn’t too crowded, which made it even more enjoyable. I tried something new this time — while the food didn’t feel super fresh, the flavor was still really good. It’s quickly becoming one of my favorite spots! Huge shoutout to our waitress Toni — she was so sweet and welcoming. Honestly, having someone like her around is one of the reasons I came back. The restaurant should be proud to have such a lovely team member! And the dessert… wow! I had the fried Oreos with vanilla ice cream, and they were absolutely amazing. Everything was tasty, the vibes were nice, and the prices were more than fair as always. Definitely coming back again!❤️

For starters, we’ve been here MANY times. Kim was our absolute best server - handling a table with more than six people probably isn’t easy but we feel she did a splendid job. We (and I) have been going to this OTB for years now. It had a very noticeable dip in food quality around 2021. We left around the time and moved back a few months ago - every time we’ve visited here since has been a total treat. This place has gotten so good and they’re much less busy than they used to be. I think they actually started salting their tortilla chips. It makes me sad that they stopped making chicken empanadas but the beef are still fantastic. Not a lot of Mexican places around here seem to make empanadas (or at least very good ones). This is one of those many, many Mexican restaurants that has a choose 2, 3, or 4 for x amount deal. Theirs is an excellent deal. Again the empanadas are to die for and the soft chicken taco is definitely good but nothing to write home about but the chicken tortilla soup is my favorite part - an utter showstopper! We look forward to visiting this place for years to come!

My family and I have been coming to OTB faithfully since they opened many years ago. Service had always been great, servers attentive, alcohol a plenty and food had been hot and delicious. Recently, our visits have become fewer due to the fact that each time we came, something more displeasing had happened. Today was the absolute worst! Started off with us not being seated for 10 minutes 'for staff to catch up'- not something you want to tell your customers. That should have been our first indication this visit would be bad. Second, it took a good 5 minutes for a server to indicate that she would be over. Our server took our drink order - 1 sprite, a Grande margarita and a Grande Dos Equis. My margarita came out the wrong size, whatever, I would drink it anyway. Then I realized that my glass was dirty, not just a little, but the whole damn glass. Didn't even look like it was washed, not to mention the glass with the beer was dirty as well. It took almost 20 minutes for our server to return for me to tell her I would like another glass because it was dirty. The new one was brought to me by the manager who offered his apologies. In the mean time, there was a double table to our left which was left with dirty dishes from a previous party. The staff kept walking past it and proceeded to add more dirty dishes to the pile instead of taking care of it- it took almost an hour for staff, which I believe it was the manager, to take care of it. Then the food came... My three sauce fajita burrito was luke warm at best. My step daughters enchiladas were cold as ice and my so was promised more dressing which never came. Our server took a little while to check on how our food was- we asked for the enchiladas to be nuked. They made another set fresh which was much appreciated by the child. To then receive our check, It took quite a while to receive it, and then it took even longer for our waitress to take our payment. Overall the experience today has been in the making . We will not be back to this establishment for quite a while as our need for Mexican cuisine will be fulfilled by other establishments. Sorry, OTB, our visit today was the straw that broke the...

Went on a Saturday around 6/7. Food was good. Came out on time. The place Could be cleaner and better kept. But my problem was the waitress. She thought we were stupid. Asks us the order without writing anything down and then has me repeat it twice. Asked for more salsa, she leaves and walks by us twice before bringing more in the same used bowls she had taken from the table. We asked for the bill and she goes into detail explaining how a card payment will work. At this point I’m like wait what? Is there a new way to pay on a card? There wasn’t. She explained how the tips are recommend on the bottom of the receipt and I have to put the amount in and also put in what the total plus tip will be in the total line. I don’t know if or why she thought we were stupid and would need to be explained to how a card payment works in 2024. The best part was when before we even asked for the bill, she comes to the table and was rushing to take our empty dishes. And very particular about how she took them. Took our half full glasses of soda too while we were still working on them. She leaves and we are looking at each other like WTH just happened did she just take our drinks while we are still eating? We didn’t give her any grief or Trouble about our order and everyone spoke English. I don’t know why we were made to feel stupid or as if we were inconveniencing her. I never leave bad reviews but this lady made our dinner experience kind of unpleasant. The food was good tho hence the 3 stars but the staff needs more training in...
