The food at Popeyes is good but greasy fried chicken and pretty consistent chain wide. They probably have good training for their cooks. It's probably pretty much, put it in the bucket, drop it, hit a button and pull it when it beeps. Sadly, the manager can't read coupons and doesn't know how to run the cash register. Their coupon to bring back repeat customers clearly says it comes with a biscuit, but they don't honor what the coupon says. Their cash register doesn't allow it when they enter a coupon code so they don't honor the coupon/advertisement which is in violation of Michigan law. The manager explained that if her cash register doesn't say they give you a biscuit the words on the coupon don't matter and she will be in trouble with her district manager for being short in inventory. The district manager needs to review Michigan advertising law. So if honesty and integrity matters to you, go to Culver's or Ruby Tuesday's. Ruby Tuesday's has some great deals and you don't need a coupon!

Definitely one of the worst dining experiences in Cadillac Michigan. My grandson and I ate here 710 Ish on Monday, March 3. The girl that waited on us was rude, not welcoming at all!!! We spent 30 bucks. I got a three-piece combo. My grandson got a two piece and a sandwich. Below is a picture of my three-piece. Three very small pieces of chicken. The taste was mediocre. The potatoes and gravy had no taste at all… Kind of like kindergarten paste. The biscuit was also a non-event. My grandson said his sandwich was OK, but kind of bland. We had to eat while listening to the workers, laughing and fooling around in the back. The rest of the place was empty. This place is located close to KFC in Culver’s. Both much better place to eat in a better buy. I feel like I wasted 30 bucks to find out that I’ll never come this place again.

I made a mobile order and when I arrive they made me pull to the second window to wait for chicken. When I got to my work and opened the box, the chicken was burnt. I drove back to Popeyes, I was very nice and just wanted it replaced. Some girl took it over to someone by the drive thru and they said “that’s what the spicy chicken looks like. Maybe they need some glasses” as a fast food manager I am disgusted she said this in earshot. I want her wrote up. They clearly refried this chicken for the order and instead of just giving me new chicken, I heard I need to go get glasses. MAYBE SHE NEEDS GLASSES BECAUSE THIS IS NOT HOW CHICKEN LOOKS. I’m never met someone so rude and arrogant in my life.

Don't bother going after 8:30/9:00pm, even though their scheduled hours are 10:00am to 10:00pm, the manager made it very clear while they aren't out of items, they just refuse to cook more as they don't get enough customers to warrant it.

Between the manager telling me the first time in February that they didn't have items around then due to the truck not being in yet, to saying their fryers automatically shut down at 8pm and they haven't fixed it despite it being months after opening, and then today flat out saying they just don't make more food after 9pm due to lack of customers, its a gamble if you'll be able to order what you want.

I've been through multiple times around 8:30/9:00pm due to my work and was excited to order, only to find out they don't have what I want and have to negotiate with the order taker to get a replacement.

If you do get your food make sure it isn't two tenders on a bun, I called and they said that it was a filet that fell apart in the fryer. I've never seen a filet become the same shape and size of a tender and become breaded on all sides. Come on, if it was a filet there wouldn't have been breading on ALL sides of the two of them.

I've worked both in restaurant management and in quality control so its just crazy to see. Refusing to make food because of potential waste? That just creates a never ending cycle, you won't make sales if no one stops after a certain time because they know you don't have food. I'd be interested to see what the store data shows for sales at those times vs when that change was implemented and how its changed.

A better solution would be cooking food to order. We went to cooked to order at McDonald's after we lost most of our customers in the evening, sure it took longer but we could actually serve the items on our menu, and the customers got fresh food. It was a win win. I wasn't allowed to just shut things off and stop selling items before we closed, your store isn't functioning when you do that, and I'm sure that's against franchise agreements. It is for every other fast food brand I know of. I couldn't just alter my menu, I had to alert the customer to the potential wait and ask if they want to proceed, what's the point of even having a menu if you get to pick what the...

I was quite excited to see a Popeyes coming to Cadillac, but this was an extremely disappointing experience. First, I highly recommend management go down to Grand Rapids or Detroit, Michigan to do some training with another location on how to cook the food and get the portions right. Usually a side of fries is a full, small box of fries, not just a little bag inside the box. Also, the seasoning is not correct. The side dishes are also extremely small. There is no way it would have fed a full family with those portions we received. For the money, it was not worth it. We asked for the chicken to be made the spicy way and we did not receive any seasoning packets/the chicken did not appear to have any spice on it. Next, the order we placed was supposed to be for the Family Chicken dinner. We were initially surprised when the cashier said it came with four sides, instead of the two listed on the menu. But, we thought maybe it was a special, so we didn’t question it. After we stood waiting for our order a minute, we looked at our receipt and realized the cashier actually put down the Family chicken tender bundle. My husband went up to the window to notify them and instead of them just correcting it, they seemed to be accusing him of the error and wanted to charge him the full cost of family chicken dinner plus the sides. He was willing to pay, but I didn’t want to keep waiting. They were extremely busy, and when I saw that behavior it just wasn’t worth it to me to change the chicken and pay more. Then, when we got home we realized we were missing the jalapeños we ordered and they gave us the wrong sides. I likely will not be going back to...

I hate writing a negative review but this place earned it. I waited about a month after opening weekend so their staff could get it together, so this definitely is not a "first weekend" review where stuff is still bumpy.

  1. "Lost" my order.... while I was in the drive thru. IDK how you do that, I've never had that happen anywhere else.
  2. Waited 38 minutes in the drive thru. Why do you install 2 speakers for ordering if you aren't even close to keeping up with 1 speaker? See point 1, I'm guessing that is what happened to other people and caused a huge slow down.
  3. Multiple cars were chilling for 5+ minutes at the speaker without getting a greeting or their order taken. I waited behind a guy for quite a while. I guess staff just forgot that there were 2 speakers.
  4. I paid for sauce and I didn't get sauce. I don't get mad when sauce is free and you forget it - I paid for sauce, give me sauce. It looks like this is a common occurrence based on other reviews
  5. Prices are expensive for the portion size. My chicken tenders were hilariously small for the price that I paid. I know inflation is a thing but $18 for a 5 piece tender meal is sad.
  6. Food was mid. Popeyes mashed potatoes and rolls are better, KFC is better at literally everything else.

Not sure if I'll be back to eat at this location again. I've had Popeyes at other locations and I have had decent food/service, so maybe this will iron out over the...
