Don't bother going after 8:30/9:00pm, even though their scheduled hours are 10:00am to 10:00pm, the manager made it very clear while they aren't out of items, they just refuse to cook more as they don't get enough customers to warrant it.
Between the manager telling me the first time in February that they didn't have items around then due to the truck not being in yet, to saying their fryers automatically shut down at 8pm and they haven't fixed it despite it being months after opening, and then today flat out saying they just don't make more food after 9pm due to lack of customers, its a gamble if you'll be able to order what you want.
I've been through multiple times around 8:30/9:00pm due to my work and was excited to order, only to find out they don't have what I want and have to negotiate with the order taker to get a replacement.
If you do get your food make sure it isn't two tenders on a bun, I called and they said that it was a filet that fell apart in the fryer. I've never seen a filet become the same shape and size of a tender and become breaded on all sides. Come on, if it was a filet there wouldn't have been breading on ALL sides of the two of them.
I've worked both in restaurant management and in quality control so its just crazy to see. Refusing to make food because of potential waste? That just creates a never ending cycle, you won't make sales if no one stops after a certain time because they know you don't have food. I'd be interested to see what the store data shows for sales at those times vs when that change was implemented and how its changed.
A better solution would be cooking food to order. We went to cooked to order at McDonald's after we lost most of our customers in the evening, sure it took longer but we could actually serve the items on our menu, and the customers got fresh food. It was a win win. I wasn't allowed to just shut things off and stop selling items before we closed, your store isn't functioning when you do that, and I'm sure that's against franchise agreements. It is for every other fast food brand I know of. I couldn't just alter my menu, I had to alert the customer to the potential wait and ask if they want to proceed, what's the point of even having a menu if you get to pick what the...
Read moreI was quite excited to see a Popeyes coming to Cadillac, but this was an extremely disappointing experience. First, I highly recommend management go down to Grand Rapids or Detroit, Michigan to do some training with another location on how to cook the food and get the portions right. Usually a side of fries is a full, small box of fries, not just a little bag inside the box. Also, the seasoning is not correct. The side dishes are also extremely small. There is no way it would have fed a full family with those portions we received. For the money, it was not worth it. We asked for the chicken to be made the spicy way and we did not receive any seasoning packets/the chicken did not appear to have any spice on it. Next, the order we placed was supposed to be for the Family Chicken dinner. We were initially surprised when the cashier said it came with four sides, instead of the two listed on the menu. But, we thought maybe it was a special, so we didn’t question it. After we stood waiting for our order a minute, we looked at our receipt and realized the cashier actually put down the Family chicken tender bundle. My husband went up to the window to notify them and instead of them just correcting it, they seemed to be accusing him of the error and wanted to charge him the full cost of family chicken dinner plus the sides. He was willing to pay, but I didn’t want to keep waiting. They were extremely busy, and when I saw that behavior it just wasn’t worth it to me to change the chicken and pay more. Then, when we got home we realized we were missing the jalapeños we ordered and they gave us the wrong sides. I likely will not be going back to...
Read moreI hate writing a negative review but this place earned it. I waited about a month after opening weekend so their staff could get it together, so this definitely is not a "first weekend" review where stuff is still bumpy.
Not sure if I'll be back to eat at this location again. I've had Popeyes at other locations and I have had decent food/service, so maybe this will iron out over the...
