Bush's Chicken — Restaurant in Harker Heights

During a recent trip to Austin, Texas, I made a stop in Harker Heights, just outside of Killeen, to get a bite. My friend had a taste for fried chicken and suggested Bush's Chicken. The experience was excellent.

We ordered a variety of items, including a 20-piece chicken wing meal, green beans, mac and cheese, chicken gizzards, chicken tenders for the kids, and rolls. The total came to around $100.

The service was outstanding. The young staff members were helpful and knowledgeable, and they accommodated my request for separate chicken wings. The food took a little time to prepare, but it was worth the wait. Everything was fresh, hot, and well-seasoned.

As a fan of crunchy chicken, I was pleased with the texture and taste. The sides, especially the green beans, were also delicious. Even after eating a substantial amount, I didn’t feel overly full or sluggish.

Overall, my experience at Bush's Chicken in Harker Heights was fantastic. If I find myself in the area again, I’ll definitely be back.

If I could leave zero stars I would!! I ordered a 20 piece tender family meal and I only get 14 pieces!! Literally; you had one job to do, which was count chicken!! I called and speak to the Manager he did his best to apologize about his employees being incompetent & then reassures me that I will get the remaining of my order if I could come back up there. I get back to Bush’s only to sit in the drive-thru for 20 minutes; all while the incompetent workers see me sitting there but NO ONE bothers to ask me if I need assistance!? Now granted, these are highschoolers that are working here 9th-12th grade?? You mean to tell me, they don’t know how to count to twenty?? It’s quite clear, they have no common sense! And furthermore; Where’s your customer service?? There is no reason anyone should leave y’all’s drive-thru, travel back to their home only to realize that they do not have the meal that they’ve paid for!! THE FISH ROTS FROM THE HEAD!! Poor leadership equals...

This Bush's in Harker Heights is absolutely horrible...I've patronize this establishment since it was opened and over time is just getting worse and worse. These few weeks I've ordered once a week and the chicken tasted very chewy and old...probably sat on the food warmer way too long. Plus, the customer service is subpar...I drove up to the drive-thru line and 2 cars ahead of me. After waiting for about 10 minutes for the staff talking to the car in front of me and the staff was not even taking an order, but had a female friend of some sort, giving him some children's clothes. Then, walked pass me and started talking to another person that he knew, and totally, ignoring my car waiting to place an order. Lastly, they're always out of food...(i.e. Mac & cheese, dinner rolls,and fried gizzard). By the facial expression of the manager, she doesn't even care about her employees' attitude.
