On August 20th, 2017 me and my family chose to drive from high point to Concord to visit Dave & Busters, restaurant number 36, for the first time. It was our brother's 21st birthday and we were more than excited with high expectations of your facility. We were a party of 12 people and wait was about 30 minutes, which was okay and we did not have a problem with, we had drinks at the bar while we waited.
Once we were seated we ordered our drinks and food. We were being served by Megan Marie, right around 4:30pm. At 5:30pm, an hour later we start getting irritated and now hungry but still patiently waiting hoping the food will be worth it. It was now 6:00pm and our food was finally delivered. Our food is delivered cold, my sister in law gets buffalo wings instead of BBQ wings, our cousin gets tenders and fries but the tenders are delivered with a sauce on one of them which shows it was obviously mixed with someone else's food. However what has really encouraged me to write this review is the fact that while we all have had our food for about 15 minutes my husband who ordered your Dave's cheeseburger with fries still had not received his food. It is 6:15pm and I ask for the manger to come over because although I understand we all make mistakes, all of the cold food and my agitated and hungry husband is one too many mistakes for me to let it go.
Once the manager, Chris O'kieffe, comes over I notify him of all the incidents up to this point, he advises us he will check in with our waitress and see where my husband's food is. He comes back and at this point says it will be an additional 15-20 minutes for my husband to have his burger. When I ask him why would it take another 20 minutes for a burger and fries he begins seem getting annoyed and finally asks "what do you want me to do? You want it for free" I respond with a simple "no, I just want to know why would it take to so long for a burger and fries that was supposed to be here 15 minutes ago?". At this point I'm offended at the way me and my entire family are being treated. My husband decides he does not want the food at all. I paid for all my cold food that I did not eat. The rest of our party paid their bills with no problem as well but not happy nor satisfied.
Once we paid for our food we went over to use the bathrooms and to my surprise the bathrooms were almost unusable. These bathrooms are some of the most unsanitary bathrooms at a restaurant I have ever been in. Please see the photos attached of the women's bathroom for reference. Needless to say I did not use the bathroom at all, and if I had busted the bathroom before we ate I wild not have ate here at all.
I want to make a point very clear,ALL of my party came prepared not only to pay for our food and tokens but also prepared to leave good gratuity for our service. Between all 12 of us we were bringing at least $260 into the establishment. I am writing this review because my first experience at this establishment was so awful I do not plan on coming back at all, at least not to this Concord location. I will also make sure none of my family, friends or colleagues visit. After driving an hour all I expected was an apology from someone, or just an acknowledgement of the issues, instead I received attitude and was brushed off by paying a couple of meals for us. I would not want anyone else to go through the same experience we went through while we were there to celebrate. I do believe someone at your corporate office should know about the service that Dave and Busters at Concord is providing for...
Read moreI went to Dave & Busters with a few friends. We went on Wednesday because of the half price on games.
It was my first time eating there, and I'll not eat in there again. I do not like to leave bad reviews, but this is a warning to other customers.
Please note that If you do not have a phone that can scan codes, you will not be able to eat at the place.
The "waitress", more than a delivery person in place, came to the table and the first thing she said is: "scan your code, order your food and pay online. I'm here only to bring your food to the table" I asked, " what if I do not have a phone?" This is a real question, my mother neither my elderly aunts or uncles have that type or phone, neither they like to use apps, what should they do then? She was very rude and says that she may be able to give a menu and "maybe" take the order but as the "last last last last resource. Because we don't want that, as I'm only here to bring your food to your table"
Really? That's how you serve your customers that visit you to your establishments? This is not only rude and inconsiderate with the customers, but lazy. And no coronavirus excuse can be used to validate bad customer service.
We ordered online and we didn't see anyone for at least 30 minutes, except the trivia host who was very kind.
Finally the waitress arrived with some of the dishes. She walked away and forgot to bring waters and utensils. We called her, and it took us a while and she acted like she didn't want to be there. We told her about the utensils and the water. She turned around and asked to the rest of the table (still is missing their food), if they needed utensils. Unbelievable.
She never came back after that. We had to call another waiter that was chatting with another waiter, if they could give us some extra water and boxes to go for my friend's food, they were rude and tossed them on the table.
My dish was terrible. The asparagus were very overcooked and bitter, and I had to wait for utensils for a long time trying to call the attention of the waitress, so everything was cold by the time I was able to eat. I ordered the vegetarian dish.
I wouldn't eat there never again. I do not recommend the restaurant. Bad food, bad service, rude staff and the exclusively online, not able to pay at place, is inconsiderate of elderly people and those who can't pay online using portable cellphones.
And all that said we had to pay everything online before getting any service so we end giving 20% tip for a service that deserved zero!
*I'm giving one start because the trivia host was great. He came to the table more than the waitress. In a separate review he would...
Read moreI am writing to express my deep disappointment regarding the experience my sister and our family had during my nephew's 12th birthday celebration at the Concord Mills Dave & Busters on January 25th. She had chosen to celebrate this special occasion with one of your party packages, expecting a fun atmosphere and high-quality service. Unfortunately, what we encountered fell far below those expectations.
Upon arrival, we anticipated a lively celebration, but our excitement quickly faded when the food was brought out. The dishes were presented in standard stainless steel pans, devoid of lids or heat sources, leaving the food exposed and unappetizing. The chicken strips were dry and hard, lacking the tender quality one would hope for. The macaroni and cheese resembled a thick soup rather than the creamy, comforting dish we were promised, and the fries were served lukewarm, if not cold.
To compound our disappointment, the assigned staff seemed nearly absent throughout the event. We found ourselves repeatedly searching for assistance, feeling neglected during a time that should have been carefree and celebratory. Basic needs, such as requesting that the food be kept warm in proper serving dishes, refilling our water decanter, and addressing other concerns, became frustrating challenges rather than convenient requests.
However, amidst these shortcomings, the manager, AJ, stood out as a beacon of hope. He approached our situation with genuine concern and made commendable efforts to rectify the problems we faced. His attentiveness provided some relief, yet it was disheartening to witness the family celebrating next to us receive a starkly superior experience. Their server was highly attentive, promptly clearing empty plates and ensuring that their drink decanter was perpetually full and ready for their guests.
This experience fell dramatically short of the high standards I associate with Dave & Busters, a venue known for its vibrant atmosphere and excellent service. I sincerely hope that our feedback will prompt you to make necessary improvements to ensure that future celebrations are not marred by such disappointments.
Thank you for taking the time to consider...
