Villa Italian Kitchen — Restaurant in North Carolina

I usually avoid leaving negative reviews and prefer to give 5 stars if the experience is decent. However, this place left me genuinely disappointed. While the service was alright, the atmosphere felt like a middle school cafeteria with nothing remarkable about it. I understand mall food comes at a premium, but if I’m paying $5 for a slice of pizza, I expect it to taste like it’s worth that price.

Unfortunately, the slice I got was overcooked, lacking any special flavor. The sauce was spread so thin that it barely had any presence, and it needed more basil to really stand out. The cheese was surprisingly bad—I didn’t even know you could mess up cheese like this. I also tried the mac and cheese just to be sure, and yep, it was bland and tasteless.

Overall, it felt like a low-quality meal made with minimal effort and cheap ingredients, designed to maximize profit. It left me wondering how they can even afford the rent at the mall. I couldn't finish my slice, and honestly, I ended up tearing it up and feeding it to the birds because each bite tasted worse...

Worst service ever. I came with my daughter and after asking for one slice, she (the server) said she’d take me at the register, even though I still wanted to order another slice and a salad. I had to keep asking for the other slice and the salad. Then she tried to ring me up before I ordered a drink. Then the pizza came out and it was not the kind I asked for, that I saw her put in the oven. Instead of being sorry in any way she was rude and annoyed by the fact I was asking for the right slice. Just rude rude rude. A guy was ordering after me and she was all smiles and “have a nice day” to him but practically ignored me, would not acknowledge me, nor even apologize for their mistake. There are soooooo many options around here, I’ll never be back...

I didn’t get as far as actually eating any food. This review is based on rude customer service. i came to the mall early and decided to get a bite while waiting for stores to open. There were many restaurants open already and the food was already out on counter at villa. So i walked up to the register where there was an employee leaning on the counter. There was also a manager standing by. Neither greeted or acknowledged me. Still i said hello and proceeded to start me order. The employee just stared at me kind of blankly. I said “oh, are y’all open?” and he just said “12” it was 11:50. no problem but hope ride is that? I’ve was a little embarrassed and apologized. No response from manager or employee.
