So I had the pleasure of visiting here this past weekend with my family, the entrance was so welcoming even the cashier Vickie. From the time we walked in she was so nice. Her personality was so welcoming for a restaurant cashier, my mom even conplimented her, which is not like my mother at all! We all ordered and sat down to await our food. We ordered the Westerner sandwich combo, the Saturday DOTD and the loaded baker potatoe. While waiting, Willie the waiter was oh so friendly that I had to tell him that if the food was as good as everyone's personality I would have to bring back entire family, he stated it would be and I would need a bus to bring everyone back! Well as we got our food it was not so good anymore! All of our meats were cold and the Westerner sandwich didn't have the cheese on it. A piece of my meat had fallen off so I handed it to Wilie to feel, he even said yes that's cold and to return it. My mom had taken a bite of her sandwich so therefore her bread was bitten and her round of meat had her bite print in it. So we returned them to Vickie and she asked did we want them all remade or just heated, I asked for them to be remade. Well when we got it all back I could tell the Westerner was remade bc it wasn't as much meat and the cheese was there but just lukewarm melted on. My potatoe was hotter but it was less meat only hotter bc of the potatoe heat. My mom's food wasn't remade bc her bitten bread was still there and we could see her meats bite indention ans was just lukewarm. Well we informed them again and they sent the manager Mitchell over with another guy standing behind him like a bodyguard, Mitchell stated it was all remade and when asked about the buns missing piece, he stated he cut it. Really and why? We had moved the meat around so we couldn't show him that. He stated that he didn't know what else to do so my mom just asked for her money back. In doing the refund he asked her if she had paid with a $20 bill! Why that was we don't know. I did eat my potatoe and we packed the westerner to go to have to reheat it at the hotel. As we were leaving we asked for the guy that stood behind Mitchell's name. Vickie called him over for him to tell us his name. We found out it was Josh. I must say this was the worst dining experience ever, for the so called manager to say he had cut the bread of that sandwichwas a lie, when we could see the bite marks. This was my first and last time visiting Dickey's. Willie...
Read moreToday was my first day to eat here, and today is also the last day I will ever eat there again. The staff was abundant and just standing around, but nothing was clean or stocked. The drink bar looked as though it hadn't been cleaned in over a month. There were out of the lemonade and tea. They had plenty Hot and Sweet BBQ sauce but where completely out of the original. The condiment station was an even bigger joke tbh, no pickles, salt, barely had any utensils left in the dispensers, went and asked the lady behind the counter if there where anymore pickles (Her response was: there out there and pointed towards the condiment bar with a undesirable tone)(I should have said if there where some on the condiment bar why would I waste my time asking you if there were anymore) but I didn't I told her that it was empty she was not helpful at all. Then when the waitress brought our food to the table it all looked really good. Then you take a bite and it was so bland the BBQ sauce didn't help it all. I finally know what cardboard taste like. I went back to the so called condiment station to get some salt and pepper they had plenty of pepper no salt and off back to the front counter I went the first lady who helped me with the pickles turned and walked away when she noticed me coming back. I asked the gentleman if there was anymore salt he said that he would check for me and bring some to my table, then out of nowhere I hear SIR being yelled across the restaurant by the man. Sir we are completely out of salt, I said it's ok and thank you for checking. I only ate my bread and my barbeque beans and that was it. When we where getting ready to leave two employees started yelling again across the restaurant to behind the counter, then that's when I noticed the gentleman sweeping the floor was sweeping the air the broom never even touched the floor not once and I watched him do this for about five minutes. Plain and simple if you want descent BBQ and better customer service all while enjoying it in a clean and friendly establishment you might want to wait for the Mcrib to comeback...
Read moreHands down the worst restaurant I've tried in Hattiesburg and probably the worst food I've had in the last 10 years. I say 10 years because I can't remember anything worse at the moment, but surely there was something.
The sausage. Ordered the combo, ribs and sausage. Seemed safe or so I thought. When I said "sausage", the cashier says "Spicy or Regular?". "Spicy". What he didn't mention was that it's not actually spicy. It's actually sausage with cheddar cheese inside. Who in their right mind thought this was a good idea? I thought this was a Texas franchise. I took a bite and nearly gagged. It was awful.
The ribs. Honestly, they'd probably have been okay if they hadn't been slathered in BBQ sauce. If you're smoking meat and you need to sauce it to make it palatable, then let someone else handle the smoker. And if you must slather it in sauce, the sauce should be good. The sauce here isn't good. Unless you're into Kraft BBQ sauce, which is trash.
The spinach. Calling this spinach should be against the law. It's 75% low grade cheese with a touch of spinach here and there. And it tastes like cat food smells.
The slaw. Was actually decent. Not great, but not as offensive as the other "food".
You're better off getting a McRib. Avoid...
