Avoid if you're looking for good Chinese food, or even mediocre. We just ate (if you can call it that) at Ocean Seafood Chinese Restaurant. Three people had the buffet on the recommendation of a friend - $17.95 per person, the buffet is very low on choices, the restaurant is hotter than the food on the buffet. The orange chicken was like chewing leather, as was the center of the won tons. The beef and broccoli was not only cold, but tasted strongly of fish. The vegetable egg foo yung was ice cold and nasty. The rice wasn't any better. Our son had a coke and my wife and I had water, honestly the best part of the meal. We didn't even finish our plates and paid $58.49! Yet the buffet has a sign reading "In order to keep our prices low, please don't waste food. There might be a charge for wasted food. Mahalo" LOW PRICES?
We normally don't complain about a place and usually just won't go back, but this was so bad, for so much that we felt the need to let others know. Not sure how anyone could give a three, four or five star review, unless they know the people there and are doing...
Read moreNot only was the selection on the buffet minimal, but the steam tables keeping the hot food hot were not steaming and the food was not hot. The inside temperature of the restaurant was hotter than the food we were eating. When my son asked for a soda, the waitress did not ask what size he would like, even though there are three different sizes on the menu each priced differently. The hot mustard squirt bottle had a lid that looked as if it had never been cleaned. Then, we must have come during the restaurant family's lunch time because they proceeded to gather for a lunch of piping hot snow crab legs and vegetables (the only steaming food we saw that day). We had been assured during our arrival that they would refill the buffet line, yet we had to interrupt their meal to ask for more of the food that was edible on the line. However, my daughter did hammer ALL of the sugar covered donuts that were on the buffet. Save your money, unless you want to spend $13/person on donuts and watching the owners and their family enjoy a hot...
Read moreMy first solo trip I thought Hawaii would be safe for a female solo traveler but maybe not so much. The food was good but if you visit this restaurant make sure the owner’s son keeps his distance. I was placing a takeout order inside the restaurant when I felt someone passed next to me touching my backside. I was startled and loudly said “excuse me” and he completely ignored me and kept walking. When he tried to pass by again I stopped him and told him to please say excuse me or ask me to move before he passes as he just touched me and made me feel uncomfortable. This was heard by two other female employees who both said something like “I’m sorry, I will talk to him” but then I pick up my order and the same waiter hands me the order and I told him he made me feel very uncomfortable, he said “I’m sorry I won’t do it again”. I find out after I left he didn’t add utensils or napkins to my order. I feel that was retaliation for...
