Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen – Hits the Spot… When They Get It Right

I have a love-hate relationship with Popeyes, and this location summed it up perfectly.

🍗 The Food: When it’s good, it’s really good. The chicken was hot, crispy, and flavorful—everything you want from Popeyes. The spicy tenders hit the spot, and the biscuit was buttery (though dry as always—standard Popeyes charm). But consistency is the issue here. Sometimes the fries are fresh and seasoned perfectly; other times they’re cold and sad. You roll the dice.

⌛️ Service: Mediocre at best. I get it, it’s fast food and they’re often short-staffed. But between the slow-moving line and getting my order wrong (missing a side and the sauce I specifically asked for), it was a frustrating experience. The staff weren’t rude, but they weren’t exactly enthusiastic either. Just… going through the motions.

🧼 Cleanliness: Dining area was decent but could use more frequent wipe-downs. Trash was overflowing during my visit, and the drink station was a little sticky. Nothing horrifying—just not particularly well-kept.

📦 Drive-thru/Takeout: If you’re ordering takeout or drive-thru, double-check your bag. I learned the hard way that not everything makes it in there. They get busy and things get missed.

This is not a drive-thru location! I came in to grab the new Hot Honey meal. Just in & out and off to work. There was only 1 person ahead of me, so this will be quick, right? 😑 So, WHY did it take me 30 minutes to get my order? There were 2 ladies trying to order 3 family meals w/a coupon. Coupons CLEARLY SAY "1 COUPON PER CUSTOMER/ORDER". They were arguing about the coupon, claiming that the 3rd person has a disability and can't be there to order the 3rd family meal with their own coupon. (Keep in mind... you can order online w/ the coupon & pick-up in store) 🙄 Long story short, a huge line formed as this lady debated about her order. That's when I knew, these heffas just ordered the whole batch of chicken BEFORE my order, now I gotta wait! The staff handled this situation PERFECTLY THOUGH! They bagged my order nicely too. All I could think of was "watch my food be cold by the time I get home". You ever been so hungry that you eat in the car? That was ME. Been going to this Popeyes for years, the food is the same as any other popeyes, tho my friend says the spicy here always makes him sick recently. But the service has gotten so bad. The manager (maybe owner) seems like a really nice hard working lady, but the customer service from her staff has been getting worse.

I ordered a 6 piece tender blackened deal, and when I picked it up it was ready, but was regular. I asked to get it corrected, one employee said they don't do blackened, the other says they do. (they advertise blackened on the menu above their heads and I have gotten blackened from them before). Anyway, I'm standing there in this restaurant full of about 6 other people waiting for their orders, and then 1 guy starts complaining it's been 20-25 min since he ordered and where is it? Then a bunch of them are all bickering about the wait time. They got their food, then mine was ready after waiting an extra 15 minutes, and then my order was still wrong, instead of 6 tenders I got 3, and when I opened my mashed potatoes they looked gross.

I'll go to a different Popeyes from now on. Wish this one the best to...
