We were all excited to try this place last night after the Christmas train...It was disappointing. My husband asked for a recommendation, which we ordered. The avacado burger was blah. The bun was grilled but only on the top- the center and inside was still cold. He also ordered the fried chicken sandwich, which the unethusiastic kids working behind the counter said was GREAT. It was processed meat in a patty and definitely not better than ANY fast food chain at half the price. And then the chicken strips- full of cartilage that even our 3 starving kids kept spitting out. Hair was in the ranch sauce. The ambiance was boring. The ice cream was nothing to write home about. The fries were hot but the same frozen fast food style fries you can air fry. And the onion rings were not home made and very basic. There was so much opportunity here, and it was missed. We tried making conversation with the boring staff and asked about "Granny" which none of them knew nothing about. Get these kids trained or hire someone who is actually interested in their job and quality of food just a tiny little bit. Also, WAY over priced. Like, just go to McDs and save your money. You'll get disappointment either way!
*And based on many of the owners responses here- If "adding bacon" is the ONLY way to make the burgers decent, it should be included, not an extra charge on top of the already pricy burgers that don't include any sides or offer a...
Read moreI really wish I was here to write a higher review of Granny's. We had really high hopes and were excited to try their famous shakes! Everything started out great, the staff listened about my wheat allergy and assured me they would do their very best to make sure they cleaned the equipment and avoid cross contamination. The first couple of problems were disappointing, but not a major issue: 1) the Mint + Chip was not mixed very well at all, there were globs of green goo on top of the ice cream and 2) the Mocha Almond Fudge didn't have almonds, so it was basically just a cup of soft-serve chocolate ice cream. Bummer! But my husband ate the first half of the raspberry shake and LOVED it! Ice cream was creamy and raspberries were sweet and tart. I was so excited to try it! When he finished his half he handed it to me and after a few bites I knew something was wrong. I dug around a bit and the entire bottom half had Oreo (WHEAT) chunks mixed in it! I was able to take some meds to reduce my reaction but will likely be affected for weeks. We got our shakes to go as we had kids in the car and needed to get home, which is why I didn't go back into the store to discuss these concerns. We were hoping to make Granny's a regular stop but unfortunately due to the lack of knowledge or education, we'll be visiting the local burger joint down the street that seems to be more aware of how to help those of us with food allergies...
Read moreOh boy. We went to Granny's last night. I remember going here with my family growing up for shakes but haven't been in years. I took my daughter and her friend after a day at the lake, so three of us. We got three burgers, two fries, and two shakes. We spent $50 on just that for three of us!! Expensive but whatever. However the food was so, so disappointing. The burger patties tasted exactly like frozen cafeteria patties with some of their flavored salt added. A lot of salt. My daughter said the buns were gross and the best part of her burger was the lettuce and tomato. (She's only 12 btw) The bacon looked and tasted like the thin precooked bacon from Costco. The fries were mediocre, like cheap frozen fries reheated (but better than raisin' cane fries, yuck) and the shakes tasted like super cheap soft serve ice cream with some Oreos mixed in. The service was polite and good and fairly quick so an extra star for that. But the food was terrible and expensive so we'll never go here again. Arctic circle would've been half the price and better food and that's...
