Bad Betty's Barbecue and Catering Company — Restaurant in Helena

Worst communication ever regarding food truck availability at an event. I reached out to John, general manager, countless times via email and in person at the restaurant to secure the food truck for an event. I started emailing him 2 months ago and also showed up visiting at the restaurant with John. He was always "too busy" to spend five minutes confirming reservations with me that he verbally agreed to. He rarely got back to me claiming he wasn't getting the emails. However, he randomly responded to two emails in the thread. He did state that the food truck would be at our event but did not respond to clarification questions and questions regarding us signing a contract to commit. Just one week before our event, John responded and just canceled claiming lack of staffing and he said the owner told him they had to cancel. I would love to visit with the owner who probably has no idea how many times another committee member and I have reached out to John without a response. Now we are stuck with no food truck as we were counting on Bad Betty's trying to give them the benefit of the doubt due to John claiming he wasn't getting the emails and the restaurant was busy! Such poor service! I thoroughly understand that all businesses struggle with staffing but he could have talked to the owner earlier and kept in constant communication with us. I welcome an email or call from the owner regarding...

My wife and I were in there on June 24th. We picked this place for lunch due to the reviews and the fact that it's not a chain (that we know of). We walked in just after lunch and they were out of most of the sides. Not a big deal as the sides we did have were good. We sat down and none of the tables were clean so we had to clean our own table. Whatever, it's not the first time we've had to do this. Once our food was ready, the girl kept calling out the wrong name so we didn't think the order was ours. Finally she pointed at us and said it was ours....ok... The meat and sides had good flavor but the rib tips were very overcooked and dry so I went to the counter to ask for more sauce. Both girls working acted like I wasn't even there so finally I had to call out to one of them for more sauce. The one girl acted very put out that I even asked and then gave me a whole teaspoonfull of sauce. Thanks?

Anyway, it must have been an off day as most reviews were positive but this place doesn't even come close to Desoto Grille in Kalispell, MT for service or quality of food. Just not an overall good...

Just tried this place for the first time today and holy cow. It's kind of a cold, dreary day put so I wanted to give doordash a go. Have always heard great things about Bad Betty's and was excited to give it a try. It did not disappoint. I got their "big dawg" because I couldn't choose between brisket or a brat. This is an amazing combination I'm so happy I got it. Brat was spicy and juicy but had that nice snap when biting into it. The beans and coleslaw were absolutely delicious and piled high with jalapenos and pickles. And the brisket - oh man. Smoky flavor, super moist and mine was perfectly balanced with some pieces having delicious chunks of gristle and others having nice charred ends that were full of flavor. Definitely will be a returning customer cant wait to check out the inside. Also cant believe the people complaining about portions I didnt even get halfway through before filling up and only paid $9, that's a steal! Thanks so much for the awesome food guys...
