I always try and start off with something positive. Let me first say that the selection of beverages was Amazing. They had a Mountain Dew that was Ridiculously AWEsome.
I actually arrived to interview for a position and called in to meet with the assistant manager (who was very charming.)
Upon my arrival I was told to have a seat in the dining room where the assistant manager would arrive to meet me shortly.
I scanned the dining room and could not locate a clean table. It was at that moment that in order to properly focus on the interview, I would have to clean the table. So I sat down at the table closest to the counter and used the napkins from the table caddy to begin wiping down the table. I had plenty of time as I was in a virtually empty restaurant for well over 30 minutes before the very nice assistant manager appeared at the, now clean, table for the interview
My interview went well and after a few minutes I was told that a position had opened up for a Cleaning Captain.
Now,in my mind, this was either an opportunity being given, for me to make a difference in their establishment, or a way to insult and mock me for their knowing that I had to clean, their table, before our interview.
I took this offer as the positive, an opportunity, and accepted the invitation to return back to their restaurant, for a 2nd interview with Carol, the General Manager.
Two days later I arrived back at the exact 2:30 pm, (the time designated for the 2nd Interview) and was instructed, by the very abrupt cashier, to have a seat in the dining room, and that I would be "attended to."
(What does that set of words even mean, "Attended to"?)
I scanned the restaurant, and you have already guessed it, I am having to clean the very same table, with the same type of napkins, from the same caddy, at the same time, only two days later.
In addition, 1 was also getting very disturbed that there was such a lack of acknowledgement regarding my arrival and/or presence within the restaurant. I being the only one inside at the time, began to make me feel very uncomfortable, as I noticed (who I assume was Carol, the General Manager) was texting, laughing, and greatly enjoying, her afternoon festivities.
After several long grueling minutes, and becoming more and more unsuited in my desire to work here and being also in my suit, I reluctantly approached the counter again, and was told by the Manager to go get a seat, and Someone would be there shortly.
I began to realize after a few more long painstaking moments, that the culture and direction of this very unique (and dirty), Polly's Pies, that is an owned but Franchised, KFC Restaurant, was not even close to being aligned with my goals, in working for, an Enhanced Guest Services Experience.
It was obvious that this entire process, with this establishment, was a mockery.
I waited for a very long time for this interview which included a huge lack of communication and complete absence of any professionalism, that was within their control.
I approached the cashier and stated that I was departing without the desire to further my talents and experience with their company.
As you might have have figured out by now, I Left Before the 2nd Interview Began 🤔.
(First time in my 30 Years of Employment that I have Abandoned an Pre-Employment Interview.)
Additional Food for Thought!!??
Maybe I was there to clean their table, because they needed a table clean, for their next, and only, 3:00 pm customer, and they couldn't get one of their own staff to...
Read moreWhere do i begin? First i like to say i will never entertain the idea of stepping foot in this KFC. I waiting patiently for my food as others did. I notice that there was about 2 people waiting near the beverage bar when i came in. And a small amount of people in line. Placed my order. After waiting a while. Felt a bit longer than need be. I could see that a steady flow of business happening in the drive thru. They finally started calling orders but out of sequence. I felt something was happening but no was saying anything. So they continued to take order after order. Knowing that there was some kind of malfunction in their system to provide product. When they called the order for the 2 couples that came in 5 mins after i placed my order. I had to go up and I asked about my order. By now its been 30 plus minutes. The establishment has closed. All I was told that it was coming. But not 3 mins later. The management I'm assuming, announced that it be 30 minutes for bone in chicken. I came for 10 pcs. After already waiting 30 plus minutes. He was finally saying something. Wow dude. You need to do better. I got my money returned to me. Got a half ass apology. But it didn't matter though. Either way he is still a lousy manager. One good thing is the gal who took my order...
Read moreI was going to give this place 2 stars compared to the East Florida location which I gave one star. But it changed due to inconsistency.. I was allowed to use the bathroom at this one which was good and it was somewhat clean and lit so it was usable. The employees were friendly and the lady cashier even offered to help take my tray to the table. But I kept having to ask for stuff because they don't have it out like napkins and salt and pepper. And to switch out the silverware. They had no salt (?!) so I only got to have pepper for my mashed potatoes. How do you run out of salt? This is an inventory/management issue. Last I checked those salt packets come in huge boxes and obviously you order before you get low on stock. Or make it work and substitute..go to the store and charge the company or another KFC. Don't be out of salt. The popcorn chicken was easily half the serving amount of the east Florida location. Why? The east Florida location served the popcorn chicken combo in a bucket and this one served it in a smaller to go style container. The inconsistency alone of this meal turned me off and ruined the vibe of the experience. Other than that it is way cleaner and nicer looking than the dingy ghetto east...
