This is an experience that JUST HAPPENED about 15 minutes ago (around 11:15 AM). I placed a mobile order and went through the drive thru to pick it up. I told them my name, and the girl who was running the drive thru basically told me that I could come inside and pickup the order. Mind you, it wasn't a busy time of day, and there were no other cars in line. Someone in the back had to tell her that she could hand me the order at the window.....
So I get up to the window, and then the girl tries to hand me someone else's order? It turns out there were two orders in play, both with the same first name but different last initials. If our friend at the window was paying any attention, she would have been able to figure that out, but I'm the one who had to tell her this.
And then, after I solved her problem for her, she asked me to pull around to the front where they would bring out my order. Again, the store was not busy, it was not a busy time of day, and no one else was in the drive thru.
Just to recap, I went from being told that I couldn't get my food at the drive thru window, to then being handed the wrong order, to then being pushed out of the empty drive thru.
I ended up leaving because I was so disgusted with the horrendous customer service. It's been almost a half hour, and I'm still waiting on the KFC app to get in touch with someone with their chat support, just to see if maybe I can get a refund? And their technology is very out of date, so I can't even get an estimate as to how long the wait times are.
And before some manager goes and posts a canned response here, I don't really care about how sorry you are and how much you strive to provide a great customer service experience. I actually want you to just DO IT. And if somehow I could get a refund for the horrible experience that I just had, that would be great, but I doubt I'll see that either because corporations just don't do things like...

Unfortunately, my recent experience at this KFC was extremely disappointing. My order was simple—just two large gravies and 12 nuggets—yet it took nearly 20 minutes to receive it. That kind of wait time might be understandable for a complicated order during a rush, but this was not the case.
One employee in particular stood out: a man in a red shirt, which immediately caught my attention since no one else was dressed that way. I have never seen someone look more lost in a workplace. He repeatedly walked in circles around the order prep island—four or five times at least—without actually accomplishing anything. Based on his role and how the actual manager eventually stepped out of the office, I can only assume he was some sort of assistant manager or shift lead.
What really cemented my impression was the manager’s reaction. When she came out to the floor, the look of complete exasperation on her face said it all—like she couldn’t understand why he was behaving that way either. That expression told me this wasn’t just my perception; even she seemed baffled by how ineffective he was.
I say this with some perspective, because I worked as an assistant manager at a KFC while I was still in high school. The job is not complicated at its core: make food, take money, hand the food to the customer. A good manager or shift lead should be able to jump in wherever needed to keep things moving smoothly. Instead, this man was not only failing to help, but he was in the way of those who were trying to work. After waiting 15 or more minutes my order comes up I asked about the free individual fries promo added on the app she said we can’t give you free fries since ir doesn’t show on your order even showing her on the app she argued with me I’m front of 6 other people also waiting on chicken they forgot to drop said all food even one fry is accounted for so she couldn’t give me free fries not hire fault I said it’s your app she said not our problem not only did they forgot to drop chicken but made us wait extra 15 minutes for their mistake with no apology but to argue with me then I asked for her name while her crew members talked trash in the back she said bye leave call someone. Put matters worse in my order we got the Korean bbq loaded fries came home and there’s a bowl with ONLY fries and some sauce no pickles no slaw no chicken nuggets this is so unacceptable unprofessional and she should no be working there I am livid.
