A Quintessential Seafood Haven: A Culinary Journey at King's Fish House
Tucked away in the vibrant heart of Henderson, Nevada, King's Fish House is a dazzling intersection of elevated culinary artistry and a warm, inviting atmosphere. It's a destination for those who crave the freshest seafood. With its roots tracing back to an authentic American fish house in Southern California, King's has meticulously broadened its footprint, blossoming into a celebrated beacon for seafood aficionados throughout the region.
Upon entering the restaurant, guests are immediately enveloped in a warm ambiance that seamlessly combines comfort and sophistication. The tasteful decor—featuring nautical elements and soft lighting—sets a perfect backdrop for what promises to be a memorable dining experience. The staff, genuinely attentive and knowledgeable about the menu, provides a warm welcome, enhancing the inviting atmosphere from the very start.
To kick off my culinary adventure, I opted for the New England Clam Chowder, which was nothing short of spectacular. The chowder boasted a rich, velvety base, teeming with the briny sweetness of fresh clams. Each spoonful has a balanced, creamy consistency and hearty texture, punctuated by the earthy undertones of perfectly diced potatoes and a subtle hint of aromatic herbs. As the chowder's warmth enveloped me on that crisp evening, it became clear that this was not just a dish but a thoughtfully crafted experience, highlighting the mastery with which King's Fish House curates its offerings.
For my main course, I indulged in the Beer-Battered Fish and Chips, a classic that King's has elevated to new heights. This dish featured Wild Pacific cod, expertly fried to a golden crisp. The batter was light and airy, enveloping the flaky, tender fish and locking in its delicate flavor. Each bite offered a satisfying crunch, followed by the rich and savory taste of the cod—seasoned to perfection. Paired with impeccably crispy fries, the dish was complemented by a dollop of creamy tartar sauce, which added a zesty contrast, and a refreshing cole slaw that provided a delightful crunch, creating a harmonious balance of textures and flavors on the plate.
Before diving into these main courses, I savored the freshly baked bread and butter, a seemingly simple yet enchanting prelude to the meal. The bread, warm and soft with an inviting aroma, was served with rich, creamy butter that acted as the perfect accompaniment, setting an elevated tone for the dining experience ahead.
While enjoying my meal, I was drawn to the sushi bar, showcasing an impressive array of skillfully crafted rolls and fresh sashimi options. The vibrant colors and artful presentation invited future visits, as did the enticing selection of live oysters, each promising its unique burst of briny freshness.
King's Fish House is more than just a restaurant; it is a tribute to the ocean's treasures, a convivial gathering space where the sea flavors inspire connections among friends, families, and fellow seafood lovers. Whether you are a lifelong devotee of marine cuisine or searching for a standout dining experience, this establishment delivers excellence with soul.

Read moreI have been going to Kings since years before COVID; the first few times in their Long Beach CA location & they were a 4.5+ star restaurant. The food was always great, along with the service. Post COVID, just as everything & every other place, portions got smaller and prices went up, but the food was still great. The first time we ate at their NV location, about 1 years ago, the portions were still smaller, but the food was still as I remembered as in CA. More recently, 3 weeks ago, and 1 week ago, the quality of the food has gone down, the portions seem even smaller, and the prices have gone up even more. 3 weeks ago I had a fillied fish that was more bone than fish. They were professional, and service minded enough, to replace my dinner, and the halibut was delicious, but quite small. It wasn't small because they replaced my other fish - it was the same as one of the others I was with had. The fried calamari appetizer was seasoned well & quite good also, with a decent portion for 4 to share. 1 week ago my wife & I went with other friends (who have been there before), and everyone commented on how small the portions were, and 2 of the 4 are not big eaters! This time the fried calamari appetizer was not seasoned as well, was well overcooked, and so greasy you could have sold the oil wholesale! Unfortunately I did not send it back this time, but I wouldn't take the left overs home (the last time there were no left overs)! One person received the wrong food, and we all waited for him to get what he ordered, where cold foid does not go over too well! For the record, we checked, and the wrong food being delivered was the kitchen's fault!!! I haven't had rainbow trout in quite a while, so that was what I ordered. I did not expect it to be filleted, and I was extraordinarily shocked at the "see through" thin, and tiny piece of whatever fish it was that I got! On top of that it was so dried out I could have used it as a blotter for the calamari - no, then that would have been "swimming" in oil too. Perhaps I could have used it as a patch for a torn cardboard box. It was a special occasion for the people we were with, is I didn't want to make a fuss, and once again - Unfortunately did not return it for Anything else - which is something I would ordinarily never put up with!! I do not mind going to a "fine" EXPENSIVE restaurant, and paying for very good to great food, and paying for it; However, this did not fit the "bill!" Everyone else's food was okay to good, so I was glad that I was the only one together stuck!!! And, for the record I did pay for everything, and it was not inexpensive!!!
The service, and people who work at Kings are still excellent!
You do not go to Kings for its ambiance, it is nice, clean, and not squashed but not very roomy either. Having said all of that, what it is is quite noisy, and I would never go there on a weekend (Fri inc)!!!
I Will probably give them one more chance sometime down the road, but WILL return anything that comes to the table and isn't perfect!!!! The entire world has changed SO much, that these days one has to put up with smaller portions at much higher prices, and staying home will not help any because anything you buy, to cook yourself, is astronomically costly as...
Read moreI was excited to finally get an opportunity to dine here and I must say, it fell a bit short of my expectations. The oyster sampler was good offering a variety to taste, which, I found very pleasing. The lobster was cooked perfectly as was the 8oz fillet. The mashed potatoes and octopus tasted great and were very flavorful. The three dishes that fell short were the calamari, which was overly breaded and cooked far to long resulting in it being too crunchy. The clam chowder was flavorful but it was seriously lacking in both clams and potatoes. Unlike other establishments I’ve dined at where the emphasis was on clams, potatoes and flavor. However, the most disappointing dish was the brussel sprouts. I received only (3) whole brussels sprouts and the remainder was overly charred brussel sprout skin. They also lacked flavor and were visually not appealing. Our server was phenomenal and truly understood the importance of good customer service. The dining area is big enough to accommodate large groups and the decor is fitting for a seafood restaurant. Other than the three missteps, I will give this place another try.
Tonight, 5/8/23, I returned to King’s Fish House after having a prior meal that missed the mark. I came hoping to have a much different experience and I must say, I certainly did. My meal was phenomenal. The Chilean Seabass was extremely flavorful, seasoned well and cooked to perfection. The filet mignon followed suit and was just as good. My server Lydia did a great job. She was pleasant, friendly and had a great disposition. She was attentive and ensured all our needs were met, which, only enhanced our dining experience. It was also a pleasure meeting Angela (Night manager), who came over to inquire about our meal. This was a nice touch and something you don’t normally see at similar establishments and it was truly appreciated. This speaks volumes of the restaurant’s commitment to customer service and the importance placed on treating every customer as a valued asset. I’d ask that both Lydia and Angela be acknowledged for their work by management. I highly recommend you give this spot a try. You’ll be...
