If you're ever in Henderson, Nevada, and craving an unforgettable dining experience, look no further than Mister Kim’s Korean BBQ. Nestled conveniently near a local hobby store, this gem is not just a place to eat; it's a vibrant culinary escape that invites you to gather, grill, and indulge. With the convenience of food delivery platforms, you're just a few taps away from enjoying their mouthwatering dishes at home, but trust me, nothing beats the immersive experience of dining in.
As soon as you step inside, the warm ambiance envelops you, with the enticing scent of grilled meats wafting through the air. The interactive nature of Korean BBQ is what truly sets this place apart. Each diner gets their own grill at the table, a personal cooking station that transforms your meal into an engaging culinary adventure. We dove right into a delightful spread of appetizers, starting with sushi that my sons devoured with gleeful expressions. “This is really good!” they declared, their eyes lighting up with each bite.
When it came to the main event—a multitude of marinated meats—Mister Kim’s did not disappoint. The beef bulgogi was tender and bursting with flavor, while the galbi ribs were a smoky delight. Each piece of meat was fresh, expertly marinated, and cooked to perfection right in front of us. However, I’d advise against the pork belly; while it’s a popular choice, it’s thicker and takes longer to cook, which can be a bit of a wait when you’re eager to dig in.
The overall vibe of the restaurant is casual yet vibrant, making it an ideal spot for families like ours. The energy in the room is infectious, with laughter and the sizzle of meat creating a soundtrack of enjoyment. The decor is simple yet charming, with traditional Korean elements that make you feel like you’ve stepped into a cozy gathering place rather than just another restaurant.
Speaking of gathering, the service at Mister Kim’s is exemplary. Our server was attentive without being intrusive, always ready to refill our drinks and check in on our grilling progress. They guided us through the menu with genuine enthusiasm, which added to the warm, welcoming atmosphere. The pace of the meal was just right—everything arrived quickly, allowing us to enjoy our food and each other’s company without feeling rushed.
For a price range of $25 to $36 per person, Mister Kim’s Korean BBQ offers incredible value. Whether you're a couple looking for a fun night out, a family wanting to create lasting memories, or a food enthusiast eager to explore authentic flavors, this place caters to all. So if you're in the area, give Mister Kim's a try—you won’t regret it! It’s more than just a meal; it’s an experience...
Read moreHave been here quite a few times alone or with my fiance and usually the service is good, I'm a former server myself and am not one to complain if I have to wait or if things start off rough, as long as I enjoyed what I wanted to enjoy, I'm happy.
Today for lunch however, I had a terrible server all around. Tall bald guy with freckles, avoid him if you can. I went in around 11:50, wasn't busy and he had 1 other table of two people when I sat down. He took a long time to come over to the table and when the hostess brought over the banchan she apologized and thanked me for my patience.
Server took my drink order and came back to take my food order. My food arrived before the utensils, after receiving them I went to place some things on the grill and realized the scissors were dirty; not water spots, actually covered in pieces of food and crud. Upon inspection of my plate, I discovered food on it as well, okay not his fault. My food was burning by the time he came over to check on me and I had to continue to wait longer for new scissors to cut my short ribs.
I finally received them and was able to salvage most of the food on the grill, however I did not receive a sauce I had asked for until the fourth time I asked for it. He had 3 tables total at this time and his newest table was also a lone diner. He rarely came back to check on any of his tables, instead would disappear for a while then walk past the tables without a word. I managed to get another order in and he emerged to do a grill change, I'm still not annoyed at this point; maybe he's helping someone in the back or in the freezer pulling prep, a server had many responsibilities and I understand.
The breaking point was the last time he disappeared, he had been sat a new table that had been waiting quite a bit, and the first table had been waiting about 15 minutes for their bill. I placed my credit card on the table and he took it and paid. He then dropped the checkbook on the table without a word and left. I usually tip $10 when I go to lunch by myself, but based on the service I had received, I had decided that $7 was adequate. I opened the checkbook and there was no pen, not even sure as a server how that can happen, but it shows the level of detail and care he has towards his tables ... Anywho, he definitely decided his own tip with that, no pen, no way to sign, no way to tip. I wasn't about to bother the hostess who was busy working, she had been nice and caring. Again, avoid the bald server with...
Read moreWent to celebrate the end of the school year. Our waitress (shorter woman, dark hair, name begins with a D, very unique and beautiful name my memory just isn't grabbing it) was very friendly and attentive. 1st time trying KBBQ and was very impressed, most of the food had great flavor. 4 stars for food because the shrimp are not de-veined, which is really gross and hard to do at the table without risking cross contamination. A quick blade down the back and a rinse under water is all the kitchens gotta do. It deters me from ordering the shrimp again and I love shrimp. It was messy de-veining them after cooking and were no wet napkins (highly recommend you guys add those or a wet towel for the tables). Ttebokki (spicy rice cakes) was lukewarm. And we ordered Romaine and our waitress let us know they just got a shipment and are processing it so it'd be a hot minute, but we never got it at all. We had a few sauces but none of them really hit the spot. So 4 stars for food due to those. But the flavor of everything else was amazing.
Atmosphere gets 4/5 because the table is small and when you're getting multiple plates and trying to cook raw food and keep cooked food separate it gets...complicated and a little difficult. And the belt they use for bringing meat to the table is slippery, so we saw a few plates almost fall when they were traveling. A cabinet lining mat cut to fit could help that and be super cheap (just throwing it out there, it'd suck to lose product because of something so preventable).
Our favorites were the spicy chicken, the bulgogi, beef tongue, the cheesy corn, if the ttebokki had been hot not lukewarm it'd be a fave, and the jalapeño bomb and fried California roll.
Either way we enjoyed our experience and look forward...
