Umai Ramen — Restaurant in Henderson

Umai is a small mom & pop ramen house with good ramen and great service.

Umai service & ambiance: The dining area is like a long skinny rectangular shape with moveable seats and tables. Along the walls are some cool cartoon murals for decor. Dark wood and plants are seen throughout the dining area. The service was fantastic as two servers were checking on me throughout my quick visit. My water was always filled and the kitchen got my ramen bowl to me quickly.

Umai Ramen: I had the Black Garlic Ramen spicy and it was tasty. The broth was savory and they were very generous with the chasu and especially the noodles. The noodles were just under the surface of the broth and I was definitely full when I left. The thin noodles were fresh and the whole bowl overall was pretty good. They definitely meet the standards I'd expect from a good ramen house in the vegas area.

I randomly stopped by when I was running errands in the area but I'd definitely stop by again. The price offers some pretty good value and I'm curious about their takoyaki. The service was excellent which is what ensures future visits as...

A stunning ramen restaurant in Henderson, Nevada. Before COVID-19, Umai always felt packed but there was rarely a wait. While dining in feels hip, fun, and the service was always pleasant, my wife and I ordered pickup at least twice a month. When their dining room was closed during the pandemic, Umai really stepped up to the plate (bowl?) and provided quick, painless handoffs. I'm confident Umai actually started to recognize my wife and me after how frequently we ordered pickup. While my wife is a big fan of the Kimchi Ramen, I have tried almost everything else on the menu. Umai's broth is absolutely delicious. It tastes deep, rich, and homemade. However, I wish Umai's noodles were as memorable as the broth. They are perfectly fine for commercial ramen noodles. In comparison, the kale noodles in the Mazemen are utterly divine. The creamy melding of the noodles and sauce make the Mazemen something truly special. I ordered this dish once by mistake and was pleasantly surprised. We'll be back....

Last night we went here for a birthday dinner. (Which was not the first time). This was by far the worst experience.

1. New menu so what I normally got here for, they didn’t have.
2. Instead of spicy tuna we wanted plain tuna. They did not make accommodations for an item.
3. Server was very rude! It may be a language barrier, however you should treat your customers with EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE, WHICH WAS NOT THE CASE HERE!!!
4. they automatically charge gratuity. There was 3 young children 2 teenagers and 2 adults. I understand the gratuity, but at least mention it.
5. there was a bug in our water. They changed it out. However when we were done with our food at checkout I mentioned it to the owner and he acted as if he didn’t care. No sympathy just excuses and Justification how it wasn’t there fault!
