A few weeks ago my daughter picked up a slice of the Matcha Cake for us to share. Neither of us had ever tried anything from Bake Me House, but we were excited to finally get a chance to.
Well, we could not stop eating the cake once we started! The cake was moist with a nice matcha flavor and the frosting was a light and melt-in-your-mouth (and not cloyingly sweet) delight.
Today, I met my daughter at the Bake Me House and we decided to try a selection of what Emily (the owner, sole operator and baker extraordinaire) had available and bring it all home to share.
Here's what we got:
Mango Short Cake Basque Cheese Cake (topped a homemade berry jam) Thai Coconut Cake Japanese Cheescake Tiramisu
All I can say is Wow! Every single thing was wonderful.
The fresh mangos in the Mango Cake were ripe to perfection, the cake and frosting were moist and fluffy. The fresh mangos are definitely the star in this cake... An absolute summer delight!
The Basque Cheesecake was perfectly baked with the signature "burnt" exterior and creamy custardy center-- topped with a berry jam...just dreamy!
The Thai Coconut Cake surprised me--in the best possible way! The coconut in between the layers of cake was fresh, tender coconut (not dried), the flavor was delicate, and the cake was perfectly moist. With every bite, I loved it even more...
The Japanese Cheesecake was lighter and fluffier than the basque cheesecake, but it was delicate deliciousness in it's own right!
The Tiramisu had creamy mascarpone and coffee soaked sponge layers, topped with a dusting of cocoa powder. Scrumptious!
If you have not been to Bake Me House, you must go! Now! Go early, because she sells out fast most days. I...
Read moreI had been meaning to visit Bake Me House since I heard of their opening. Today, I was craving a yummy cheesecake and decided to finally check them out! Their location is right next to the public garage on Church Street which was very convenient.
The atmosphere inside is very bright and clean, I liked that it felt modern and streamlined. The selection of baked goods was modest but everything looked delicious. I asked the owner (who was lovely, by the way) what was the difference between the Japanese cheesecake and the Basque cheesecake. She said the Japanese is much lighter and fluffier and the Basque was denser. I decided to get the Basque cheesecake and was not disappointed! It was smooth, filling, and had just the right amount of sweetness. And it had a dollop of meringue icing which I usually don’t favor but it was a nice addition to the cheesecake.
I’ll definitely be back to try more...
Read more2-day soft opening for Lunar New Year, had 4 different cakes on display, we ordered 1 slice of each to fully experience the new bakery and we were not let down. My wife was born in Japan and has a standard for quality to match her nastalgia and was not let down. The bakes on all 4 were perfect, the layers were perfectly balanced and cleanly cut, if I didn't know better I would've assumed these cakes were machine manufactured. Pristine Aesthetics, and a subtle natural flavor profile makes this bakery stand out from the others in town. I usually steer away from American desserts because of how heavy and sugary they always seem to be so Ive been praying for a place that had baked goods that wouldn't leave me in a sugar coma and the universe responded with Bake Me House. I can't wait for the grand opening to experience all they...
