As part of Safelight, Dandelions serves a great purpose. However, their recent remodel resulted in nothing more than a new floor and higher prices. Food is the same, nothing new as I could tell and the day I ate there, service was subpar compared to numerous past visits. I don’t think we’ll be back but instead just cut a check to Safelight every year for a good cause. Asked Mgr what had changed, she stated the kitchen, so I wouldn’t have noticed. I noted the prices had gone up and she stated the remodel had to be paid for some how. Don’t think that was a very good business decision but what do I know. Except that customers are more likely to accept higher prices when they can see and experience a direct benefit from a remodel, such as improved service, a better product, or an enhanced environment. Hendo is full of folks on a fixed income; the customers that will get you through the Jan to Mar slow down, not just tourists with aplenty in...
Read moreWOW! This place is 1000/10. I went for lunch today and FINALLY understand all of the hype. The food is SO incredibly good and the pricing is extremely fair. The menu has all the regular soups, salads and sandwiches but their take on them is creative and unique. This is my new favorite lunch spot in Hendersonville and it tastes even better knowing it's for a good cause. They don't accept tips but donations to Safelight are welcomed. The atmosphere was welcoming and friendly. The cafe's design is spread out so you can enjoy your meal with plenty of space from other tables. The big 5th Avenue-facing windows in the front flood the restaurant with peaceful natural light. We had the Shrimp & Grits with a Creamy Spinach and Chickpea soup as a size and a Champions Chicken Panini with the Cucumber...
Read moreCute little cafe, they seem to have a lot of regular customers coming through. It is a section of a nonprofit organization, they were very busy so I didn’t ask more about it but I am excited to learn what they do on their nonprofit side. They have a pretty basic breakfast. Biscuits, omelettes, I had the grit bowl with veggies and bacon with feta cheese. I really enjoyed it and would recommend for a nice breakfast in downtown Hendo. They don’t have a large selection of drinks (this was odd) only hot tea, coffee and sprite? I heard them talking about not wanting all the sugar drinks in house. I would suggest some sparkling water options, maybe some fresh squeezed orange juice? Lots of good natural options available that would at least give...
