LOCAL HEALTHY FOOD OPTION!
My wife and I absolutely love us some good Greek food! We try to eat as healthy as we can, as often as we can. I was unaware this place existed until tonight, so with our prior dinner plans foiled, we decided to give it a try. Definitely not disappointed and will 💯 be coming back, but 5-star worthy? You be the judge.
#1. Portion size- 5-Star! If you’ve ever perused my other reviews, you probably know I’m a huge portion guy (literally and figuratively). Without digressing too much, my appetite is a bottomless pit. I can eat…and eat… and eat! So naturally I always order double portions of whatever protein I choose to eat for that particular meal. This was no exception, so I ordered the Chicken Salad (Greek, no dressing) with double chicken, and I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of grilled chicken they put in there!
#2. The Grilled Chicken itself was good, not great. I had a few pieces that were a little rubbery (it happens), but not too bad overall. However, the chicken was so abundant that it completely dwarfed the actual salad. I might have counted 15-20 pieces of lettuce LOL! Again, probably my fault for ordering double chicken, but I’d rather have them add the extra portion of chicken in a side container, so the salad doesn’t suffer attrition.
#3. Gyro meat was on point! By the way the “G” in gyro is silent so it’s pronounced “yeero” (My wife pronounces the “G” and she will literally die on that hill every single time LOL). Order the gyro meat extra crispy, you’ll thank me later 😉
Pro tip: ORDER AHEAD! This place was PACKED! Which is always a good sign, but the line was to the front door literally (it’s a small place, so a line to the door means about 10ish people). We ordered ahead and had our food waiting at the pick up area. Paid and got out!
Overall it is a really good (and healthy) option. We will definitely be going back again soon. I’m happy to have a Greek restaurant in...
Read moreWent on Christmas Evening. First, it’s great that they were open! What a lifesaver. It’s a small establishment - kind of a mom and pop type restaurant, and the two guys in there were working so hard. They had endless online orders coming in and 10 people behind us in line. Yes, the wait was long, but it gave us a chance to look at the menu and decide what we wanted. You can also take a look at all of the fresh salads and sauces they have while you wait. We got a chicken salad and they let me get half Greek half mint. We also got a gyro plate. It was so much food. Easily two meals. They grill the chicken tenders and cut the gyro meet fresh off the spindle. Everything was really fresh. Vegetables. Lettuce. Cucumbers. They cook fries to order. Great place to get a salad! Not to mention they’re very friendly and thanked everyone for waiting. Definitely...
Read moreMy new favorite place in Glenbrook to eat at! The man helping us was super friendly and gave us a very great first experience here. He was super funny, kind and generous. What stuck with me was when I asked him what his favorite thing there to eat was, and he said with a smile and wide handed gesture, “Everything is good!”. That to me is a great sign that they take pride in what they cook. On that note, our food was incredible! He formed and cooked the falafel there right in front of us. My only regret in trying them was that we didn’t try sooner. Not pictured was the $1 baklava which btw tastes like a donut from heaven. Do yourself a favor and try them out! The portion sizes are awesome and I’m still thinking about my food and how good it was because the savory flavor...
