The store itself is clean and has plenty of staff to help you out if needed. I took my dog to their low-cost vaccination clinic. The two women setting it up, who I am assuming are somewhat of front desk. People were OK at the beginning. The one who had pink hair and was the taller of the two was the one who checked me in she was very very rude! She was just trying to upsell me on their âpackageâ deals. When I nicely told her that my vet told me the only two shots that my dog needed were rabies and Bordetella/Parvo shots, she proceeded to argue with me about the fact that theyâre $150 package is what is NEEDED in the state of Tennessee to have them considered healthy and up-to-date on everything that they need. She reminded me of one of those collection agencies that calls you and uses certain wording to make you think that they are from either the district attorneyâs office or some sort of police agency, when all they really are is a lawyerâs office who should know much much better than to try and impersonate an officer of the law! I digress! Lol! Anyway, after about four times of going round and round with this âpersonâ, she finally gave in and was very rude to me while taking my information and my dogs information and just kept like rolling her eyes at me and huffing and it was ridiculous! My dog is 10 years old. He had all of his shots that were due right before we left California about four years ago. He never leaves the house for much of anything other than maybe a car ride with me to go pick up some fast food and get him a treat. He doesnât like water so he doesnât go swimming, he doesnât go to the dog park, he doesnât go anywhere elsewhere dogs are, heâs never boarded and has never been boarded and will never be boarded, heâs a French bulldog and he is lazy so what am I getting all these other shots for? Oh yeah because it makes you extra money! Now I get it! 𤏠oh and she kept telling me that Iâm going to have to bring him in four weeks from then to get the booster for the Bordetella/Pavo vaccine. To which I kept telling her thatâs fine. Weâll be back in four weeks! God was she a pain in my you know what? So anyways, we got back to the doctor. He was nice enough. He just kind of spoke with me a little bit, gave my dog his shots and said everything else that he could see he looked good on him. So once everything was said and done, the reason that I gave this Petco one less star than they shouldâve gotten was due to that very rude person that checks people in for their shots. Iâm going to call today to make a complaint now that they probably will do anything, howeverâŚâŚ you never know? The person checking me out was also very nice and personable and very helpful as to finding a certain price for me since something I got was on clearance and of course it did not have a price tag on it! Lol! I would recommend going here as long as youâre not getting shots from this...
Read moreI stopped in to Petco today in Hendersonville because it was conveniently on my way home. I live in Goodlettsville and I am a frequent visitor to Pet Smart, which is where I will go for future purchases. We have three dogs and two fish tanks. We have kept fish in a variety of different size tanks for over fifty years. I entered the store knowing what I was looking for and what I wanted. My son accompanied me today. He has a ten gallon tank in his room as well and takes great care of his tank and his fish. I have always kept a small albino catfish in my tanks as they are fun to watch and do a great job cleaning the bottom of the tank. The girl in the fish dept refused to allow me to purchase the $3.49 fish unless I purchased three of them, telling me that it was a "schooling" fish and she could only sell them in threes. Funny that there was only two in the store tank. My son was also interested in buying a pair of kissing fish which we have kept in a ten gallon community tank for many years in another room. She again stated she could not sell them to him because a ten gallon tank was to small, he would be "stunting their growth" Now I frequently take advice from Pet Smart employees, they have been helpful and supportive. I have learned a lot on my own in the 62 years I have been on this earth. I would say 50 of those years we had several fish tanks at a time in our home. I am well aware of what fish that I can care for in my tanks. I felt this young women was demeaning and down right rude. My son did purchase several fish. I just said forget it and went right to Pet Smart, where I will be shopping in the future as well. What I thought was going to be a pleasant side trip today, ended up a disaster. I am thrilled with the attention and support, not to mention the five new fish that I purchased at Pet Smart today. I won't be returning to Petco. I want you to also know that I selected only one star because this app requires you to pick one. I don't believe my trip there today...
Read moreIâve been to this store many times through the years. Since the covid19 pandemic, things just havenât been the same. Items show a hook and tag on the shelf but for a couple of years now, the turkey tendons are not stocked. Iâve asked and have even showed up when a shipment has come in as directed by staff. I was told Petco was rebranding and they may no longer be carried, yet here we are well over a year later and the vacant spot is still on the shelf. Recently, I went in to buy some feeders for my leopard gecko. The container advertised 12 live dubia roaches with at least half of them being dead. I searched through the containers looking for better options. I found several containers with molded food blocks. I found containers with every insect inside being dead. I asked the associate at checkout if she was willing to discount the cup as $10 for 6-7 insects was a steep fee. She went back to the shelf to help me look for better feeders with no luck. She asked another employee/shift manager and they did not agree to discount. This will be the last time I shop at Petco though. I donât expect anything for free, Iâll happily pay $10 for twelve live feeders. I would have waited if they had offered to swap cups and add live dubias to my cup from another but they did not seem interested in finding a solution. The young woman tried to be helpful but if thatâs Petcoâs standard for feeder insects, I truly wonât be back. Iâve also noticed that during shopping hours, carts of stock are left in the aisles left and right. It makes it hard to navigate the store. The Petco 5 years ago was way better than the Petco currently. Itâs such...
